Chung-Shin Yuan Reviews
I have been going here for many years . Love the food , but yesterday at dim sum and two other times this year has not been happy. Service wise I mean. Yesterday was the worse of the last 3 times. We sat and sat . No water unless we asked. Ordered a lot of food. Was served very very slowly . Patrons around us who came in after us were being served faster and before us. Chung-Shin Yuan offers a Taiwanese-inspired brunch experience with a cozy, plant-filled atmosphere. The menu features a variety of dishes, including Taiwan-style turnip cake, youtiao (Chinese fried dough), shao bing five-spiced beef sandwich, and spicy beef noodle soup. Recent reviews highlight that the food remains fresh and tasty, with popular items like beef rolls, sliced pig ears, and fried fish lunch special. The restaurant has a nice ambiance, though seating is limited and parking can be hard to find, with some customers parking at nearby locations like McDonald's. Many visitors appreciate the delicious food despite the slightly higher prices, noting that the dishes are well-prepared and flavorful. The fried radish cake is crispy but may be harder than those in Taiwan, while the steamed pork ribs are soft and tender, often enjoyed with sweet potatoes underneath. The large intestine noodles are praised for their smooth texture and nostalgic flavor. The fried dough sticks paired with slightly sweet soy milk are considered a classic Taiwanese delicacy. Recent reviews mention that the dim sum, including youtiao, turnip cakes, and soy milk, is very fresh and homemade-tasting, adding to the authentic experience. Some find the spareribs mediocre because of a coating that turns mushy when steamed, but overall, many say the food is delicious. Portions are filling, though the dishes can be a little pricey for the size. Customers enjoy the quick service and the clean dishes, making it a good spot for weekend brunch with a Taiwanese twist, offering familiar favorites in a cozy environment, even if the menu is somewhat limited.
