In May I had a dinner for 35 people to celebrate a special birthday. Casey, the Sales Manager, was a pleasure to work with and is absolutely delightful! Her help, suggestions, and were invaluable She made it effortless to plan my event!
I have one word to describe the entire evening perfection!!! Everything was outstanding - the ambience, the service, the food, and the wait staff. The hor d’oeuvres were fabulous! My special birthday cake was exquisite & scrumptious (lemon raspberry torte). I had raves from my guests about the whole evening!
I think I just may have all my birthday parties there!!!
Excellent, well prepared tasty food!!! Popovers and more! Dont skip desert!! Wonderful service and ambiance!! A very enjoyable meal!! Try the spaghetti and meat balls, deconstructed lasagna!
Delicious homemade Italian food. Everything was perfect including the service. I'm fat and I know my food-can't go wrong here. I like to sit by the windows.
Valentine’s Day pre fixe menu was a bust. Couples (us and everyone else) were placed in a back room looking at what I assume was the movie theater’s concessions stand. My wife was given an extremely bent spoon (seen in attached pictures), which she had to request be replaced, and the white tablecloth was stained brown. The lump crab (on the steaks) was overcooked to the point of being rubbery and the béarnaise sauce was visibly separating on the steaks.
Also, the waiter spilled water over my wife’s bag and did not stop pouring when I mentioned water was spilling. I had to get up and clean the spill off the chair and purse myself, and the only mention that it happened was when I left my wet napkin on the table and was offered a replacement napkin.
This was an overall disappointing experience for my first married Valentine’s Day dinner, and I will not be returning to this location.
This place and their manager ruined my birthday with both food and service! I've been to Davio seaport and Boston several times, this is the first time I visit Davio Chestnut Hill, and this is the WORST experien I ever had in a fine resturant. Me and my friend arrived there around 1pm on Sunday so it's not busy. But we were ignored by no reason. It took us more than 15 mins to get a drink, after another 20 mins' waiting, we get our dishes. What I ordered was a filet mignon of medium rare, but the center was all cooked without any pink! I told them it's over cooked and requested a replace. When they sent me the new one, the boss seriously told me they made it perfectly right, it's my fault that I should have ordered a rare, not medium rare. I have tasted hundreds of filet mignon of medium rare from different fine restaurant, I know exactly what it should look like, and no one ever told me I'm wrong. So I'm not sure if Davio Chestnut Hill has their own standard or they are doing racist to our Asian, neither of them is acceptable!
A great place to bring the family for a special dinner
The steaks were absolutely outstanding. Having dined at many places, I can confidently say this is where you’ll find truly high-quality food. The staff and servers were exceptionally polite and courteous. I also appreciated the managers actively checking in with guests to ensure everyone was receiving top-notch service (a clear sign of their commitment to quality). Highly recommended, and I’ll definitely be returning!

The customer service here has seriously dropped. We went for a nice meal and was really disappointed. They threw away my filet instead of wrapping it to go and only took of a quarter of it which is insulting. When they cooked an appetizer not enough they comped that for our table. Why was their mistake twice not seen as their mistake to make up for and comp? The manager was rude to us. The famous popovers were hard and stale. Overall disappointed in this place. You used to need a reservation and it was always packed every night. Pretty sure it will close down soon as management is clearly not up to Davis standards. We told the hostess we won’t be returning ever to this restaurant and to relay to the rude manager. So incredibly sad this place has gone downhill and we’ll be taking our business elsewhere.

We had a great meal. We reserved a table for 5 and were seated immediately when we arrived. Servers were all nice and attentive.
They have a rather large gluten free menu. My wife needs to eat gluten free, so that's a big part of why we chose Davio's for this family meal. She was not disappointed! All the servers were very aware and knowledgeable about the whole GF thing, and that's huge! She didn't see exactly what she was hoping for on the menu, so she asked one of our servers if they could make her some seafood and pasta alfredo. No problem. The kitchen made her a very generous plate w gf pasta, scallops and shrimp and alfredo sauce! It was delicious! Cooked perfectly. And she had a gf roll, and clam chowder. She was very happy, so thank you to the kitchen and staff to make this happen.
The rest of us also had delicious meals as well. Clam chowder was hot and delicious (and GF anyway), popovers, and spring roll trio were all yum! Steaks cooked perfectly as we ordered them.
We also shared roasted potatoes, risotto and Brussel sprouts.
All very good, although the risotto was a little bland. And its very dark in there. But that's it for negatives. We would go back without hesitation.
Dietary restrictions: Gluten free is no problem! Lots of options and the servers were very knowledgeable about this!

Called about restaurant week hrs. Was told lunch was available until 3:30.
Made reservations for 2 on Saturday.
When we sat down there was no lunch menu or restaurant week menu. We were told it ended at 1:30. I explained about we were told on phone. She spoke to manager and said we would have to use dinner menu. I couldn't believe no apology for mix up. We left with very low opinion of their customer service.

This place has amazing food. It is luscious and cooked to perfection. The filet mignon was amazing. It was served with asparagus and mashed potatoes and a glaze sauce. The filet mignon melted in your mouth like butter !!! The server's were very attentive. They were always on the spot with whatever you needed. I highly recommend that you visit this restaurant.
