We had a lovely waitress, the food selection was great, and the ambience was nise....We had a nice time...I would go again.
Definitely comfort food, but good comfort food, Nice portions and very pleasant waitstaff. We ate outside, which was very pleasant.
After driving by and seeing this restaurant for years, we decided to try it. What a surprise! The staff was friendly, the food was good. One if the best salads I've had in a restaurant! It had dates and mango and was really good. We've been looking for an easy local place we can just drop into, and found it! And reasonably priced wine list. We'll be regulars
Great place! The people are super professional and so friendly! We have actually gotten to know the names of a few of our regular servers, and the hosts make a point to get to know us as well. And the food is outstanding, including the best veggie burger I've had anywhere - and I've tried them at many, many places!
I love this place. The food is always good, the service excellent and seeing the owner there you know he takes pride in the place. It shows. Never sell out or downgrade the food like the Local.
This was my first time to District 118. It has a nice, relaxed ambiance. The food was very good- especially the desserts (carmel brownie cheesecake, key lime pie, and the lemon one -- cannot find the dessert menu online). My salmon burger was solid, but could use a punchier sauce (in my opinion). If I had a complaint, it was that the service was not quite up to standard. Not very attentive, especially when one of the meals was not delivered with the rest. Overall, I would rate the experience as "very good" and want to go back to try out there very extensive beer and cocktail options.
I will say that the server wasn't bad and the food was good, but the overall service we received was subpar. We ordered, and in time two of the three meals were delivered by a runner. We waited for the third meal, but after 10 minutes, it still hadn't arrived and our server had disappeared. We stopped another server, told her that one of our meals was missing, and witnessed several discussions between the original server, the one we stopped and the runner. Another 5+ minutes went by and the original server explained that our third meal was accidently delivered to another table and they were making a fresh plate. Again, we waited until the meal was delivered--in total about 20+ minutes. At no time did the manager come over to appologize--in fact, no one appologized for this mix up and delay. When the check came, they did not even comp the missing/delayed entree or address it with us. Overall, not a good experience and we will probably not frequent District 118 again.
Kids were screaming in the booth next to us, wait staff were inattentive and then got orders wrong and the food was just ok. The whole experience was meh!
This restaurant is visual appealing and the food looks great. However a few issues made the experience less than stellar. The fried zucchini chips are cut so thin they have no taste. All of the fried items we bought were very greasy, which is usually an indication the fry oil needs to be changed. One of the worst parts of the experience was when the tables next to us were being cleaned. The wait staff sprayed the cleaning solution so liberally that it actually got onto our arms and table. If it was an innocent mistake I wouldn't make a big deal about it but it happened to both tables on either side of us. It was very loud but that's more of a point of info than a complaint. I really want this place to thrive so I hope they correct a few issues and make it better.
Good and service were great but made my reservation at 7:45 online and called to increase the number and spoke to a hostess. The day of our dinner we sat down and were told we had 5 minutes before the kitchen closed!!! It was a graduation celebration that felt rushed due to kitchen closing. I would think they would t take a reservation. that close to kitchen closing g or at least when I spoke to the hostess on the phone it would have made sense for her to tell me that. Anyway just something to consider.

Our meal at District 118 for dinner was excellent. The Shrimp Bomb appetizer, ahi tuna salad, fish tacos, ribeye steak, chocolate caramel cheesecake and cocktails were all well prepared and delicious. Service was fast and friendly. The restaurant atmosphere is comfortable and lively.
The food selection was very good and the restaurant was perfect for a quiet meal. We had a real nice bottle if wine and an attentive but not over attentive. I enjoyed it a lot. I'll go back again without hesitation !
Manager always super friendly and accommodating! Food was great and restaurant had a nice overall vibe :)
Appetizers and a big salad; the harvest salad was especially good.

I recently visited District 118 Kitchen & Bar in Newton and, while the food and atmosphere were decent, I was shocked by the price and quality of the tea. For a supposedly high-end establishment, I expected at least a premium selection or a well-brewed pot. Instead, what I got was a basic teabag in hot water—something I could’ve made at home for a fraction of the cost.
To make matters worse, the tea was overpriced to an absurd degree. When you're charging that much for a simple beverage, it should at least be served properly, perhaps loose-leaf or with some care in presentation. Instead, it felt like an afterthought. If you're a tea lover, I’d strongly suggest skipping it—there are far better options elsewhere.
Overall, while District 118 has some strengths, their approach to tea is disappointing and not worth the price.
