My dining experience at Fuji at Newton was nothing short of spectacular! Right from the moment we walked in, the ambiance set a high expectation with its sleek, modern decor that felt both inviting and upscale. The lighting and music were perfectly set to create a warm and relaxing atmosphere, making it an ideal spot for both romantic dinners and family gatherings. The service was impeccable from start to finish. Our server was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu, offering recommendations that were spot on. It's rare to find a place where the staff is genuinely enthusiastic about their offerings, and this enthusiasm was infectious! Now, onto the star of the show - the food. Fuji at Newton offers an extensive menu that explores the rich flavors of Japanese cuisine with innovative twists that are both creative and delicious. We started with the Gyoza, which were perfectly pan-fried to a delightful crisp on the outside while remaining succulent on the inside. But the real game-changer was the sushi - each piece was a work of art, fresh and flavorful, with the sushi rice seasoned to perfection. The Dragon Roll and the Spicy Tuna Roll were particularly memorable, each bite bursting with freshness and complex flavors that danced on the palate.

Wow! Best sushi in all of Boston! Honestly, we eat sushi weekly and have tried a bunch of sushi restaurants in Boston and Newton and this one is by far the best! Very pleasantly surprised! Fresh! Delicious! Thank you Fuji! Can’t wait order again

Their specialty cocktail with particularly good. We’ve been there more than once, and fully intend to go back again. We recommend this place very much. One of our favorites.Parking: No problems finding parking nearby.

One of the best Sushi experiances I've enjoyed in a LONG time. Sunday lunch. Sat at the wrong bar (there was a small one next to the sushi station visible as I walked in and a larger one by the drinks bar I didn't see when I arrived). This problably annoyed the servers as it made them go out of their way but they were super gracious. Ordered my go-to for trying out a new spot: hamachi nigiri and a tuna roll. Splurged for the toro sampler and happy I did.Wow. Perfect sushi. Well vinegared rice. Beautiful fish. I've done the famous omakase places everywhere between Boston and Tokyo. The sushi here is just as good and a few bites were even better. If I had to nitpick, I'd suggest not adding garnishes on top of fish. I love caviar as much as the next person and I know that this is the trend but I personally prefer just great fish paired with perfect rice. I'll ask for no garnishes next time (and the caviar on the side).Service was 6 stars. Will be back.

ate here for the first time ever and got food poisoning as soon as I got home. i ate from the vegterian menu (fried rice, gyoza, maki rolls) after looking through yelp reviews, people have reported maggots and a staple in their food so i’m warning people to stay away - this place might seem nice but they don’t prepare their food well to the point of illness.

The 24 Karat was great and the miso soup was tasty.

Fuji at Newton has the same quality and excellent service, plus the same modern interior. as the other restaurants of this local chain. The difference I have seen between Fuji at Newton and the other Fujis I have been is its relaxed atmosphere.I have enjoyed here the salmon wonton chips, the bento box options for lunch (better than other Japanese restaurants I have been to), their makimono combo and the chirashi. Fuji is a little more expensive than other Japanese restaurants, but it is worth it to pay this little difference. I don't know how they do it, but their food tastes better.

We got General Gao Chicken, Tempura Maki, and Pad Thai, which were both delicious and filling. Additionally, the excellent service and cozy atmosphere of the restaurant enhanced our experience. The visit is certainly worth it.

The sushi was delicious as80 also Gyoza and avocado salad. However, service was slow and not so pleasant. It's like we didn't feel so welcomed at the restaurant. The restaurant was full. The atmosphere is OK. The design is beautiful but the atmosphere is not unique or fun.
