As a Hawaiian living in the North East finding authentic Hawaiian food is tough. I was raised in Cali Hawaiian food is everywhere but not here. So when I seen this come up on Ubereats I was hyped. I first tried the Mochiko platter it was Ono grinz,The Spam Musubi was good I wished it had the teriyaki sauce like back home but still really good. Today I had my favorite dish from back home Kahlua Pig it was so Ono a little on the sweater side but still worth it. I work in Natick so by the time it gets to me it's a little bit cold but still worth it I live in Rhode Island so I can only really order when I'm at work. So me and my family will be making a trip up to Newton to eat it fresh and I can't wait.

Great! The food is amazing. Not a long wait. You get to see the food prepared in front of you (kinda) which is nice. Not great at writing reviews but this place definitely deserves it. Make sure to get Tetris Tots on the side on whatever you order.

This place is a ritual destination for a friend and I. Every time we meet up we enjoy a bite at Mochiko and ride on a food high for the rest of the day.

The ultimate viral hidden gem of Newton. The absolute best restaurant in Greater Boston! You may not know it, but the freshest ingredients, the most inventive menu, the warmest atmosphere, and beyond! Michael and Sean are world class members of the community. Highly recommend Poppy’s Panda, the garlic shrimp plate, and the breakfast burrito!

As a mother of two young children, there’s no better place for families to enjoy the fun atmosphere and food! The space is inviting, the staff is extremely friendly and kind, and the food is phenomenal. They can cater to any dietary restrictions and accommodate even the pickiest of (toddler) eaters. Mochiko even catered my daughter’s first birthday party - the team was super professional, the process was easy and seamless, and the food was stellar - it was such a huge hit. Mochiko also may have been my daughter’s first word, “chiko!”

Not so hidden menu gems: the burger, Poppy’s Panda, and the Berry Acai bowl.

Vegetarian options: Tofu plate

Best service at a restaurant in years. I was at the hospital while my wife was in labor, so I ordered from here via UberEats. The first order never arrived, likely stolen by the driver. The folks at Mochiko swiftly offered another order on the house and paid for the UberEats themselves. That second driver never made it to me either. Mochiko spent dozens of minutes on the phone with the driver and me to help resolve the issue. After a while, I ended up having to drive over during a lull and they made me a fresh order, also on the house. Everyone was so nice and the food was great! Once our child is older, we'll definitely come back to eat in person.

This was a fantastic place to get spam musubi and chicken sandwiches on giant Hawaiian rolls. Don’t sleep on the hash browns or tots either. It’d mostly a takeout place as they only have a few stools for sit down. The staff is fantastic, helpful and hilarious. They let me try some extra sauces to see what I would like. We’re coming back soon!

Best Hawaiian in Boston by a country mile. Also some of the best food period that I’ve had here. I’ve missed this so much since moving from the west coast. This is take a bite, do a dance, level

Friendly and fast service! Met a friend for a quick boba tea date so we didn’t try the food yet. However, the whole menu makes me want to come back and try especially the fried chicken. The vibe is quirky and retro, blast to past for sure.

Dietary restrictions: Dedicated gluten free fryer. They really pay attention to allergies

Parking: There's always metered parking right out front, but I just park free in Star Market lot and walk for 10 seconds. It's easier than trying to parallel park or pay the stupid meter.

Kid-friendliness: My kids love to play the arcade games inside while we wait for our food

Wheelchair accessibility: Easily accessible with a wheelchair
