Stopped in for lunch after a long drive - the teriaki and chicken wing apps were served HOT and sizzling! Right from the kitchen they are so much better that way. House fried rice was excellent, and the seafood platter also came out still sizzling! - very good shrimp and scallops, but the veggies were also very good (I think we actually appreciated the veggies after a long weekend of fried foods and ice cream). Highly recommended. Note that on Sunday at noon, the Sushi bar was not open, so perhaps there is a separate schedule for the Sushi Bar? Check online before coming.

Just stopped into Rice Valley for a quick bite and a Chinese cocktail. I'm not a pupu pork fried rice guy I like to peruse the menu and try different dishes. Fu Chow rice and salt & pepper shrimp tonight were delicious, crispy spicy salty shrimp, and the rice was perfect with shrimp, scallops, pork, shitake and vegetables with a special sauce to tie it all together. Simple, elegant, delicious

Came with a coworker for a going away party. Incredibly friendly staff!! Bartender is funny and drinks are solid. Food was great and fresh tasting. Host Lily sat us right away and was quick to recommend her favorite dishes to try.

I placed an order by phone for my team at work. There was a mix up on the order when I went to pick up the food but the host at the counter was excellent. He put in the new order and waived the charge, which was beyond generous. Good customer service goes a long way so I hope others visit this place to give them a shot!

Beef Chow Mein was tiny slivers of beef and mostly bean sprout and celery. Shrimp fried rice used cheap shrimps. Chicken dish was ok but heavy onions and no good vegetables. Overpriced, stingy and felt ripped off. Avoid this place. Terrible experience. Waste of time and money.

This place has it all: Great food, great service, and even parking! It’s very hard finding authentic Chinese food in Newton, but this place offers all the classic Chinese dishes. I’ve tried just about all of their appetizers- not a single dish I did not like. Portion sizes are great as well, so you can share with friends and family. Such a cozy environment I highly recommend! Ps. Don’t forget to crack open the fortune cookies?

The lunch specials are very affordable and tasty and offer a lot of food for not a lot of price even now a days. The service is always great and I believe they use high quality ingredients still to this day.
Vegetarian options: There are many offerings with only vegetables or vegetables and seafood or vegetables and tofu however please check with your server to make sure there is no meat or seafood in your sauce or seasonings just in case if that could be an issue.
Parking: Depending on the time of day and how busy Washington Street is in newtonville. Street meters free after 6:00 p.m. and more plentiful after 5pm weekdays and all day weekends. More spaces are available on the other side of the street however make sure the space you are parking in has the allowed duration you need to park for.
