Cold not taste
Great food, classic Chinese atmosphere
I ordered Dan-Dan noodles for myself. It was supposed to be a spicy dish. My friend who I was eating with told me she had eaten the dish before and found it too spicy for her (in front of the waiter.) I said I'm not worried, I have a high spice tolerance and I was not planning on sharing my dish with the rest of the table. The waiter asked me if I wanted the dish made mild per my friends recommendation and I told her no, make it spicy per usual. The dish is brought out and it was very bland and not spicy at all...when I asked the waiter why, she said she had the chef make it medium spicy...I am irritated because it was not made how I ordered it and was very bland. It barely had any kick at all so I think she had the chef make it mild level spicy. It was very frustrating that the waiter did not respect my wishes. Also, there was hardly any pork in the dish....they were skimpy with the portions of meat. Won't be coming here again.
Found this place by chance while searching for a place for quick dinner in the area. Food was surprisingly authentic sichuan and thoroughly enjoyed all dishes we tried.
-Chengdu dry chicken with red chilies $21.95 delicious flavor with mild mala numbing spices, but breaded chicken pieces seem overly deep fried.
-Stir fried chicken with black bean sauce, green bell pepper and onion $18.95 even onions had full flavor and tasty. Chicken was little salty though.
-Beef Chow Fan $18.95 best smokey flavor I've tasted in years
-hot and sour soup $4.95 with all the right ingredients it was still flavorless but salty.
Place was clean with decent table settings, fast service. Decent size parking available.
Mostly used to get takeout but we have eaten here a few times as it was our go to neighbourhood Chinese place until we had 4 different occasions where they told us the order would be ready and then made us wait for over 30 mins to pick up- at that point we gave up and stopped going especially the last occasion when they seemed to be accusing me of ordering stuff that takes time- well they could just have told me the order would be ready later…!!
In terms of food we Particularly enjoyed the Chengdu’s chicken and some of the soup dumplings are good. Would not vouch for some of the baos however
That said - please expect unfriendly service esp at the reception/ counter and this is probably more due to them having trouble with the language rather than them misbehaving on purpose. One time while I was picking up - the lady told me it was not here but in a currently defunct building next door that I had to pick up- inspite of showing her the restaurant name etc and then finally she believed me when I used the telephone number on my online order and her phone rang! Also the waits are sometimes crazily long - inspite of whatever the apps tell you- it’s pretty rough that way!!! But food is good
The dried chicken with chilli is a must try 100% its so good

Definitely one of the best places to grab a bite. They have a ton of great options
The lunch specials are scrumptious & budget friendly
Love their shredded chicken, string beans, sautéed cauliflower and garlic cucumber.
If you’re craving something peppery this is the place for you.

Excellent, authentic Sichuan dishes. I can't think of a better Sichuan restaurant in the Boston area. The location is unfortunate. The restaurant does not face on Walnut Street but is buried behind other buildings.

Excellent authentic Chinese food, more particularly Sichuan cuisine, to my taste based on my 20+ years experience in mainland China. Certain diahes, such as ones made from "special" kind of animals (liver, tripe, feet, kidney, and so on) and the ones with standard spiciness/hotness, may not be popular for customers that are only used to American Chinese food. But they are indeed delicious as they are cooked properly here just as how it should. Of course, there are a few dishes in case someone is somehow really looking for American Chinese food, which is absolutely nothing wrong. It is worth mentioning that, unfortunately in a way, the English name of the restaurant is using common name for the "restaurant chain", which is kinda misleading. Because "Sichuan Gourmet" at different places in MA seemingly are running on their own, and different level of food (at least for taste and authenticity). However, this one is surely a gem among them. It is a shame I have not taken pictures of the dishes or the restaurant itself. Mainly it is because every time I am so excited about enjoying the dishes and simply forget taking pictures. Need to set a reminder next time.

Food is delicious here, and what makes it better is there’s enough parking space.

Great food and service. Definitely authentic food. The medium spicy is a little spicier than other places, so do be aware. The kungpao chicken was a great dish, a little saltier than normal. The pork soup and soup dumplings were on point. Def a good place to try.
