“We've only had the weekend Taiwanese brunch here. Food is pretty authentic with a good variety. Some of our favorites here are the soy milk, beef and scallions Xiao bin, and the steamed pork ribs with sweet potato. These are consistently good and well prepared, especially the Xiao bin which has a nice crispy crust. The soy milk actually have a lot of soy flavor and not too sweet. The beef noodle soup is fine but is mostly salty and has no depth of flavor. The filling in the chives pie is decent but the wrapping is greasy and doughy.
Service is efficient though not very friendly. Prices are not cheap for the type of food. We come to this restaurant purely for the food. It's a bit dim inside and furnishings old but relatively clean. Overall, it's great to have this restaurant to get a taste of Taiwan that we miss.“

“We did the catering service, it was great! For indoor dining , at times, I feel they rush you but I guess that's how the customer service works at the great restaurant like this. Just hope to see improvement in customer service in the near future!“

“Wide variety of very good food BUT, unless you speak Chinese, ordering by phone or even online is AGONY. They should hire a fluent high school kid.“

“Formosa Taipei is a stylish and welcoming spot with a great atmosphere that really captures a modern Taiwanese dining aesthetic. The service is attentive and warm, adding genuine hospitality to the experience. The food, however, is where it falls a little short — decent Taiwanese-inspired dishes but lacking the bold, authentic flavors you'd hope for from a restaurant with such a strong concept and name. With more depth and authenticity in the cooking, Formosa Taipei could be a truly standout destination.“

“I got a bite to eat (noodles with mixed vegetables) at an affordable place nearby to where I was working. The food was delicious, the staff was very friendly and the atmosphere was delightful. I will definitely eat here again if I am in the area. Loved it.“

“3.5 stars - not bad but not great
I got takeout from here because they were having a buy one get one free deal on almost everything on the menu and scally and pancakes have gotten so expensive it's mind-blowing. The ingredients for them cost like a cent and people are charging $12 for one order it's wild!!!!!!
Anyway we used to make scallion pancakes at home so I know very well the most important part of scallion pancakes is the flakiness. Well. The scallion pancakes they served had zero flakiness whatsoever. I do not think they laminated the dough at all (created a bunch of layers similar to a croissant) and they just made the dough and spread it out and fried it. It was one solid piece with legitimately not one single flake.
The flavor of the dough was not bad and I also got the scallion beef sandwich which I thought was tasty aside from the scallion part.
They were very nice to us when we went in to pick up the food.
I think a 3.5 is pretty generous but because the stuff was so nice and the general flavors were good I'll just take off one star for making the worst scallion pancakes I've ever had.
Seriously you could buy frozen ones from the grocery store and they would be perfect and flaky and delicious, I just hate deep frying in my house.“

“Absolutely loved our experience at Grandma's Kitchen! This cozy little spot packs a punch of authentic Taiwanese flavors. The popcorn chicken and salt and pepper pork are our favorites — full of crispy, savory goodness. The staff are lovely and super friendly, making us feel right at home. We'll definitely be returning soon to enjoy more delicious dishes. Highly recommended for anyone craving genuine Taiwanese comfort food!“
