We ordered on Door dash and the driver picked up the food and then canceled. We re-ordered and the second dasher canceled after picking up the food.

Spoke to a nice lady at the restaurant and she called door dash but they didn’t want to help. Ordered via Uber eats and got a friendly call from the restaurant to confirm.

We got our food and it was amazing. The restaurant went above and beyond even though it wasn’t their mistake. Next time I want to eat at the restaurant.

I highly recommend the lobster arrabiata, plant rollatini and Caesar salad. The limoncello mascarpone cake was exquisite too.

Thank you!!!!

Tartufo has always been one of my favorite Italian restaurants, and I recommended it to two colleagues who also love Italian food. As expected, the food was excellent, but unfortunately, the service fell far below expectations.

Our server forgot to include my order and never checked back with us to see if we wanted anything else. We eventually had to ask one of the other staff members for the dessert menu and two Peroni beers. While we received our takeout order, the dessert menu and beers never came.

After waiting for quite some time, our server finally returned—but instead of following up on our requests, he asked if we were ready to pay. Frustrated, I mentioned that we had been waiting for the dessert menu and the beers. His response was dismissive, saying, “Wow, are you okay?” without offering an apology.

Unfortunately, this left a negative impression on my colleagues, and they mentioned they’d rather dine at North End, where the service is more attentive.

Price gougers serving grocery-store pasta sauce.
There's inflation and there's exploiting town residents... like $37 chicken parm inferior to Bill's Pizza directly across the square (which only lacks table cloths and a waitstaff).
As far as this restaurant's waitstaff, you'll pay a mandatory 20% tip for more than four (4) people in your party.
Newton's businesses, especially in the center, are known to be pricey. These guys push the limit to the point of ugliness.
But if you're on a budget, they'll be happy to serve you steamed broccoli for $14.

This is my second time in this place…. The first was good during the week and last experience was last night on Friday. The food is good and tasty … not really the true Italian experience…. But definitely enjoyable. The size of the plates are medium size and you definitely need an appetizer … entree only is not enough. The menu is not wide … focused more on pasta and risotto …. Limited choice of fish (don’t come here if you want to eat fish! - not because is bad but because has limited choice). Wine list is not huge but very well selected.

Now the downside…. Why 3 stars only: extremely too loud…. You cannot hear the waiter talking with you. They host on the second floor big parties of screaming people and the acoustic is horrible. At one point I was almost ready to leave before the food arrives…. Definitely I didn’t enjoy my meal due to impolite and screaming people. If you wanna host big parties …. Please make a separate room.

We were seated fairly quickly and our server came over to take our order and explained the specials of the day. She was super friendly and charismatic.
We ordered the meatballs since she said that's what the restaurant was known for as our appetizer and I ordered a limoncello spritz since they only had spritz, wine and beer as options. It was very tasty but a bit too strong.
The meatballs were absolutely delicious, they were moist inside as soon as you cut your fork through them and the marina sauce they came in wasn't overpowering.
I ordered their white clam pasta as my entree and also tasted my sisters plate which was a huge variety of seafood in a red broth. My pasta dish was light and the clams were cooked to perfection; I probably would have liked a bit more garlic and white sauce in the pasta since it seemed a bit dry but overall fantastic flavor.
My sister's dish was absolutely delicious; the lobster dipped in the broth was perfection and it just came with a huge amount of seafood. The broth was definitely the star in that meal, at one point all I was doing was sipping on the broth.
Highly recommend !

Tartufo is a gem in Newton Center. The food is authentic and bursting with flavor, from the fresh pasta to the savory sauces. I went on a Friday so it was definitely crowed I didn't have a reservation but the stuff was very warm welcoming and arrange a table for 2 . It has my first time and it is a perfect place for a romantic date, business date or just a family dinner. The manager was very educated and very kind at the end of our meal went over to our table to ask how everything was.

Food is really good. But they just changed to their own delivery from the delivery apps and that was a disaster. We ordered last night and received 3 text notifications -- your order is confirmed (right away); your order is complete (within 1/2 hour); Your order is on its way with ETA of 26-30 minutes (within another 10 minutes). We waited about 45 minutes and heard nothing. Sent another text back and heard nothing. Waited another 5 minutes and called. They said: "your order has just left with the delivery person (!) (that was 50 minutes after we received the ETA text. So we waited another 30 minutes -- nothing. So we called again, they said "oh, we don't track the delivery so we don't know where your order is" (!). We waited another couple minutes and decided to go down stairs (we're on the 4th floor) to see if it had been deliver. Indeed it had -- many minutes ago because it was cool and the bag fell apart. We got no notification text, no buzzer, nothing. For an order of $100. So, no we won't be patronizing this restaurant again. Really bad decision to leave the app -- they cost something for the restaurant because -- guess what -- the apps deliver good service.
