Our favorite breakfast spot in the metro west! Amazing eggs, scones and food.

Tried this for breakfast and found good service and seating capacity. However, we thought that the food, while decent, was overpriced. Metered parking is available though spots could be difficult to find if it’s very busy.

The cappuccino I received was made like a latte, milk was not steamed correctly. They also may have used a dirty filter or something but the coffee taste very heavy, grainy, bitter. The chocolate chip cookie was ok in texture (crispy outside, soft inside), the flavor was off and it tasted on the brink of being burnt. The chicken and goat cheese sandwhich was disappointing. The chicken isn’t slicley thined, it tasted like a salad in a sandwhich. The vingarette was flavorless, taste just of oil & lemon, too many greens, not enough goat cheese and the chicken was dry and not flavlorful. Just overpriced for mediocre quality. It also seemed like the workers were being over worked and exhausted.

The Dining Car is fantastic! This is a great local spot in Newton Highlands. The food is delicious, and the prices are reasonable, too. Definitely check it out if you're in the area.

Little to complain about, really. Excellent sandwich, good cookie, and soda for lunch. It took a while for the sandwich to be ready. Only surprise was the price: $25+ seems a little high. But maybe that's what things cost these days, 2023.

We went there for breakfast with our family. Great coffee, delicious pastry and really tasty breakfast sandwiches and burritos.

I've had the spectacular pleasure of watching The Dining Car grow from a humble food truck ten years ago to the incredible neighborhood eatery that it is today. Their always diverse menu has grown leaps and bounds to include just about everything you could ever want. House baked pastries, sophisticated lunch offerings and the stalwart sandwich selections. I recently hired them to cater my wedding and they absolutely went above and beyond. The food was a hit with all the guests I spoke with including one who was also a loyal follower from back in the food truck days. This is an absolute gem that I'll continue to rave about for years to come! Thank you Dining Car squad!

I have eaten lunch here many times and it’s always delicious, but they outdid themselves this past weekend. I ordered the buttermilk fried chicken sandwiches for a party at home. Not only were they prepared perfectly, but they were packaged so well that they were still crispy 2 hours after we picked them up. Highly recommend??

Grabbed a coffee and sandwich with a friend and ate outdoors. Bialy was good (maybe the best I've had in Boston though that isn't saying much) and sandwich was fantastic. And coffee was outstanding. Love the patio out front.
