Great restaurant for breakfast or lunch! Prices are very reasonable for the quantity and quality of food they're serving. The servers are friendly and accommodating. They were very understanding about my parent who has dementia.... Served her soup as soon as it was ready as requested, brought more hot chocolate as needed and they waved every time my mother waved at them. As my teenaged daughter says: "they know how to serve old people."The food was very good. I had their berry strudel French toast (lots of fresh strawberries and strawberry ricotta cheese on challah French toast) was absolutely delicious - I liked it without syrup. The rest of my party had corned beef hash and eggs, cheeseburger, panini, and lemon chicken rice soup. Great food, great service in person but for some reason they don't want to let people order takeout or delivery when they're still open for 2 to 3 hours. If they had parking it would be different but they don't so going to have to give service a one based on them not letting you get take out or delivery.

This is a small cafe with excellent service and food. It is patronized by many regulars. The vegetarian omelet.I had was very good and it came with sourdough bread. My husband who always gets the most decadent. Breakfast item was pleased with his waffle with strawberries and whip cream.Vegetarian options: Omelets and other items made to order can be ordered without meat.Wheelchair accessibility: This cafe is on the 1st floor and is easily accessible by wheelchair.

It was very crowded the Sunday we went. Our family members we were meeting got there early to get us a seat, but they wouldn't seat them until all of us had arrived.I had the classic eggs Benedict and boy did it deliver! So tasty. Everyone enjoyed their meals. Nice job, Village Cafe!

We lived in Newtonville for 3 years before ever going to Village and I regret it more than I can explain! If I knew such a delicious breakfast spot was within walking distance from my house I would have been there every weekend. Fortunately we found it before I got pregnant so I was able to spend 9 months nom-ing on delicious hash, home fries and omelets before we moved over to Auburndale. Luckily we're not far so we can still make trips over to Village on the weekend. The staff is super friendly, the coffee is great. We even tried out dinner recently with my entire family and we were blown away by the high quality food and the portion size! This is a place I will come to again and again and never get sick of. The only recommendation I have for them is to bring down the spice level of the bloody marys - too hot to enjoy (and I like spicy food!).Kid-friendliness: Crayons and drawing mat for kids. Kid menu. Servers are so nice to the kids and make them feel welcomed!
