Epitome of hidden gem. Did not expect to find such a lovely authentic Korean restaurant all the way west in Massachusetts.
The place is cozy, and the staff are friendly.
We ordered dukpoki to start, and absolutely loved it. Sweet, salty, spicy. Such an interesting texture to the rice cake.
For entree we had beef bulgogi and beef yukyejang. Both came with rice, and were full of flavor, spice but not overloaded. The portions were generous and we enjoyed every bite.
They also shared with us how dukpoki became famous, and how its prepared as street food in Korea.
If I’m in the area again I would come back for sure.
I could not have been more impressed with the food. The hot stone bibimbap was fantastic.
Delicious and fast!
What a gem! We were surprised to find a genuine Korean restaurant near North Adams/Williamsburg. We got take outs twice in our short trip which says alot! :) hope to be back next time.
This is the best Korean restaurant I've ever been to. It's awesome!
Nice Korean restaurant
The service was attentive, friendly and warm. The food (kimchi pancakes and bibimbap) was delicious and very authentic. The price was right - nice value for all the food.
Korean Garden – A Hidden Gem in The Shire
Korean food has always been one of my go-to cuisines when hunger strikes. But let’s be honest—finding a great Korean spot can be tough in some areas. So imagine my surprise when I stumbled upon Korean Garden, a true hidden gem tucked away in The Shire.
As usual, I walked in absolutely starving and ready to indulge. We were warmly greeted by a sweet ajumma at the door and seated by the front window. The place was small and cozy, with only a handful of tables—just the kind of spot that usually means home-cooked goodness.
I ordered my usual favorites: Galbi, Bulgogi, and Spicy Udon Soup. My Korean came in handy and made ajumma smile when I told her I had lived in Munsan for a few years. She lit up, introduced herself and her husband, and we had a lovely chat. I mentioned I’d be relocating to The Shire soon and that they’d be seeing a lot more of me.
The banchan came out first—and wow, we got a generous variety. They even asked if we’d like refills (dangerous question for someone like me). Each one was fresh and flavorful—if I wasn’t careful, I could have emptied their fridge.
When our mains arrived, everything looked (and tasted) amazing. The portions were big enough that I needed a takeout bag—which means lunch tomorrow is covered too!
I’ll definitely be back. Warm, soulful food. Kind, welcoming owners. Cozy atmosphere. Just the kind of comfort you need when living near the mountains.
Never in my life have I sat down at a Korean restaurant and had food come out in literally 3 minutes. They probably knew what I wanted even before I knew what I wanted, and started preparing accordingly. The food was banger (I need the recipe for that kimchi pork tofu stir-fry ASAP!) and the owners are so incredibly amiable and welcoming. The side dishes are made fresh daily every morning too. They asked if I was a student. Bruh I'm 32 years old --- Gamsamnida grandpa for making my day!!!!!!!!!!
Food was nothing special for us. On the other hand friendly people and good service.

This is my FAVORITE restaurant in the Berkshires. Everything is delicious and great quality. The dishes are large and fairly priced. The owners are so kind and helpful. The atmosphere is friendly and welcoming. If you're looking for a place to enjoy Asian cuisine. This is it.
