I ordered a cake for my teenage daughter's birthday. I paid $200 for a 9" cake. While it was decorated fine and tasted fine, my daughters name was frosted in a sloppy and careless manner. When I said something, the woman behind the counter was both rude/cold and said something like, well do you want me to re-do it. Quite honestly I didn't trust the woman. For $200 for a 9"cake, my expectation is that nothing about it is sloppy or careless. Lu's Bakery is fantastic and so is Andover Bakeshop. The service and quality of both far exceeds Cakes by Design.

Lina's service was amazing and the cake was beyond delicious! I was desperately in need of finding two cakes to feed 100 people for a corporate event and Lina came through! I was able to order a vanilla and chocolate cake with the design I needed, now both cakes looked amazing but my favorite was the 2 layered chocolate cake with an oreo crumb center, if you haven't tried it then get it now, I promise you won't be disappointed. Thank you Lina and team for coming through on this last minute request, you guys are the best!

We worked with Lina on a bit of back and forth to zero in on the cake design that was the best fit for the person and occasion. Lina was patient and helpful in the process. Ordering was easy. Pick-up was flawless and on time. The cake was exceptional in all regards. Will do business with Cakes by Design again!

Do yourself a favor and find someone else! Looking at the website with beautiful cakes, I thought I would have gotten a professional looking cake. Unfortunately I did not. I ordered 2 dozen cupcakes to be arranged to look like a cake. I provided a picture to be put on the cake. I also ordered a dozen gluten free cupcakes. The gluten free were dried out, crumbly and MINI, not even full size. The regular cupcakes were a hot mess. They weren’t fresh and they tasted stale. She iced them individually when she told me she would use fondant with the team picture on top. She charged me $165 for this ridiculousness. $165!!! When I questioned and expressed my dissatisfaction, she went radio silent.Do yourself a favor and find another baker in the area.
