Came here with family on one of many returns visits home. Had been years since last here. Love this classic, clean, romantic Italian restaurant in Northampton. Food was delicious, with perfect portions, great quality, and lovingly prepared.

I ordered the carbonara which was phenomenal!!

Overall, great food and bar menu, great service, and wonderful atmosphere.

I was excited to go with my husband for our 14th anniversary dinner but it quickly turned into a disappointment as every dish had some form of allergen already in it & there was little room for substitution. Our server was excellent & made every attempt to find something for me to eat but ultimately I paid full price & went home with a meal I couldn't eat. Our bill was over $112 and I went home hungry. If you have food allergies call in advance & find out what's in the food before you visit.

I sat outside on the balcony. Adam, my waiter, was very personable, professional, and great service was provided. There were so many options on the menu that sounded fantastic. The Braised Short Rib Ravioli in the mushroom marsala sauce was delicious and I don't like mushrooms! I asked Adam to surprise me for my entree as all of it sounded delicious... Just no mushrooms or capers. He did not disappoint! The Fettuccini Pescatore with Steak tips was a perfect choice. There was sooo much seafood, steak, broccoli, and sun dried tomatoes that I was full and not able to eat all of the pasta. I did take a cheesecake slice home for later and the caramel sauce was excellent. Would definitely return and recommend!

Anything in the menu is going to absolutely delicious!
We came with a large party (room already reserved for us), so we got to try food from each others’ plates - so I can confirm that from the apps to desserts, everything tastes amazing.
Also, the shrimp scampi ravioli was in their special menu, however, I think it should be on the normal menu with how delicious it was!

Parking: Parking may be a bit difficult to find. We parking in the garage and walked for a good distance to the restaurant.

Mulino’s, an Italian restaurant located on Strong Avenue in Northampton, Massachusetts, offers classic Italian fare in a comfortable setting.

We arrived on a late Sunday afternoon shortly after 5, and were greeted and seated immediately. Moments later, John, our very personable server, came to our table to take our drink order (a Malbec and Sauvignon blanc). The wine menu was extensive and offered bottles or glasses from the United States, Italy, and other parts of the world. After bringing our wine selections he took our meal order.

Before our appetizer arrived, we were treated to two bread rolls with oil and garlic. The rolls came out hot and fresh, and were quite tasty. For starters, we opted for the garlic bread (optional mozzarella or gorgonzola cheese toppings are available, which in retrospect, we sadly chose to ignore). The appetizer consisted of two large slices of focaccia bread, brushed with garlic butter, and cut into triangles. The dough was light and crispy and overall delightful.

The Maryland Blue Crab ravioli were the evening’s special, and it was a very smart choice. The ravioli were large, and although I wouldn’t say they were stuffed with crab, there was still plenty inside. The pasta was covered in a zesty lemon cream sauce, with spinach and cherry tomatoes. The dish was phenomenal.

The Eggplant Parmigiana was another fine choice. Several thin slices of tender breaded eggplant resting on a bed of al dente spaghetti, and covered in a rich and savory house made tomato sauce.

Dessert was offered, which we declined, since the rolls, garlic bread and pasta more than satisfied our appetites.

My only complaint was that it took over an hour before we were served our entrees. However, on a positive note, we didn’t feel rushed and enjoyed our appetizer and a couple glasses of wine. Besides, the food was well worth the wait.

Indoor and outdoor seating is available. Since Mulino’s is on the second floor of a three story building, the balconies offer an elevated view of the street and appear to be a popular choice, one I wish I had made. Street parking is available, and a parking lot is also behind the restaurant (free on Sundays, but one must pay by app or kiosk the rest of the week before 8 p.m.).

Mulino’s is a must for those craving Italian fare. The restaurant is clean and very comfortable, the staff extremely polite, and the Italy-esque atmosphere – with traditional Italian music – is enveloping without being suffocating.

I ordered spaghetti and meatballs, and Italian sausage to be delivered to my door through DoorDash. I was so disappointed in the food. The meatballs tasted like something I could’ve bought frozen at my local supermarket and the sauce had no depth. It was as if the sauce was thrown together just before they sent it out to me. I ordered the Italian sausages for my spaghetti and meatballs. They came all chopped up rather than In beautiful, long links and they were dry as hell! I expect more from a supposedly top shelf restaurant. Never again!

My pasta main was DELISH, creamy and lovely seafood flavor in the sauce, soft scallops and perfect al dente fettuccine. The eggplant parm was flavorful and penne cooked well too. However, the meatballs were quite disappointing, large but didn’t taste of much and were cold! What we were thoroughly disappointed by was the mahi-mahi, the risotto, and the molten chocolate cake. The mahi-mahi was tough and dry, the risotto was absolutely flavorless, and the molten chocolate cake was not molten at all, but rather felt and tasted like a sponge cake, was cold, and was clearly a frozen & reheated dessert. Tasted fine, but not worth the price and definitely not an actual molten chocolate cake (I take my molten chocolate cakes very seriously, and the Trader Joe’s frozen packs for 2 were more delicious & better value). So overall, very hit or miss. The pasta itself was SO good! An Amherst classic and our waiter Tom was so so nice :)
