Can't get behind a bar where its employees gossip and make fun of their own customers. There are friendlier, kinder bars in the neighborhood.

Came here for the first time hoping for a nice night out with friends, but unfortunately had a pretty unpleasant experience from the moment we arrived.
We were greeted by an employee/ “bouncer” outside who informed us that no outside food or beverages were allowed — which was understandable, so we disposed of what we had. My girlfriend handed over her ID with no issue. When I handed over mine (a valid driver’s license), he looked at it, then asked if I had a student ID or any other form of ID. I told him I didn’t — I’m not in school and already gave him my driver’s license, which should’ve been enough.
He then said he couldn’t accept “someone else’s ID,” implying it wasn’t mine — even though it clearly was. A nearby bus driver who overheard offered to take a look and even confirmed it looked like me, but the bouncer dismissed him, saying his opinion didn’t matter.
At this point, I was frustrated — we had just thrown out our drinks in good faith, only to be potentially denied entry over a license that is 100% mine. I explained that I wasn’t even planning to drink (I’m the only one in the group who doesn’t), and only then did he offer to mark an X on my hand and let me in. I agreed, just to move on.
Then, bizarrely, he told me it was “just a test” because apparently most people “run away” when questioned. Not sure what kind of approach that is for welcoming paying guests.
Sadly, the bad vibes didn’t end there. Once inside, the bartender glanced at us, then immediately turned away. We stood at the bar for a bit, only to see the bouncer come in, gesture toward us, and the bartender nodded — then continued ignoring us completely. It was obvious we weren’t wanted there from the start, and it made the entire group feel uncomfortable. We left shortly after.
We ended up going to Tunnel Bar instead and had a great time. Their staff was friendly, welcoming, and they use a proper ID scanner — instead of relying on one guy’s personal judgment of whether you “look enough” like your photo.
Would not recommend this place based on the lack of professionalism and overall unwelcoming atmosphere.

I had ordered a drink earlier in the night, and someone cleaning up took it by accident. I went to the bar to say oh someone took it by mistake, was wondering if I could get another one. I hadn’t had a lot of it, It was a little farther away from other people’s drinks because I set it down to use the bathroom. When I went to the bar, I watched one of the women glance at me and then whisper to each other after they both glanced at me. One of them smiled briefly, looking in my direction. The second bartender shook her head and the first bartender proceeded to ignore me. I was in between some women they were serving and a man who got there after me. She ignored me until I went to get up, I sighed and was looking annoyed. She asked if she could help me, I said yeah I think someone had accidentally grabbed my beer, she said oh…no one’s brought anything like that down… I haven’t seen one… no one’s brought one down…do you want to buy another. I said no, and left and went back to my friend. As I walked up the stairs, she and the other bartender whispered to each other and glanced at me as I walked up the stairs, smiling. I usually have a good time here, but the bartenders tonight were really rude and made me uncomfortable. I will be letting friends know that the bartenders are rude and do not make people feel comfortable/ try to help when there may be an issue and mistake. They just want the money.

My favorite cozy spot in town for a couple beers, and sometimes also dinner. Not the place to get trashed and go crazy, also not the place to ooh lah lah over the sautéed gluten-free caviar or whatever, but the perfect spot for a couple beers with friends.

I wish I understood what’s wrong with the bartenders here. We used to love going here but now all the bartenders and the guy at the door all have attitude problems. Went with my friends last night after having a beer at the house and they would not serve my friends because they claim they were « uncomfortable » with them based on how they looked. Meanwhile we’ve been there before well drunk and they’ve served us then. Genuinely bizarre behavior. Don’t work at a bar if you can’t even judge behavior correctly. Whatever there’s other better bars in the hood to go to anyway. Won’t be coming back to this pretentious spot anymore.

Zero stars - bouncer wouldn't let us in because he thought his life had any actual significance or meaning. Get real. Wouldn't recommend, ever.
