Smithsonian catered an event planned for 150 and close to 300 showed up. Somehow they pulled it off! They served efficiently with a smile and the food from apps to sandwiches, chowders and soup and a few dishes were great. From planning with Peter to serving by Jeff and staff, we couldn’t have asked for more. Thanks.

We went with Smithsonian Catering for our wedding reception buffet-style dinner and Peter and his staff were an ABSOLUTE pleasure to work with. Everything that Peter suggested for a menu (that we subsequently tried) was delicious and we only became more and more sure of our decision to work with them as time went on. He also kindly gave us seafood chowder whenever we went and OMG that stuff is DELICIOUS. Peter and team made us a fruit + cheese table for appetizers, chicken marsala medallions, baked haddock with seafood stuffing, grilled vegetables, caesar salad, tomato mozz salad, and even helped us pull off our custom desserts! We got cupcakes in the following flavors : Andes mint chocolate, earl grey and chocolate, and apple cider vanilla, IN ADDITION to a tiramisu cutting cake. And EVERYTHING was delicious! Every tasting we went to was fantastic and everyone at the reception really enjoyed the food. Thank you, Peter, for being down to earth, transparent about costs and any changes that needed to be made, and for just being absolutely fantastic to work with. We're definitely recommending you to every event/friend we can! You guys were amazing, Smithsonian Catering team. Thank you for helping us with our wedding! P.s. Peter is also willing to take on custom menu items and has experience with interracial wedding menus (where someone's grandma's recipe can be used). We didn't end up going with this option, but as an interracial couple, just knowing that he was considerate of those potential dynamics spoke volumes to us.

The biggest problem i had was the 16$ calamari dinner. I got a fraction of calamari, compared to the fries. Almost as if i bought a large fry dish and some calamari just fell in. Pretty disappointed in pricing and quantity

I ordered a popeye sandwich. It was dripping with grease. One side only had 2 pieces of spinach on it. The otherside wasn't much better.

The food is amazing and the help is friendly and you can eat outside right now so it’s great

I find the prices to be exorbitant for what you get... The setting is too bare bones... Just a glorified grab and go fast seafood... with out one bit of class....but you are Paying THROUGH the nose...the food is nothing spectacular... I would not be in a hurry to go back there if ever.

We ordered take out tonight. Everything was delicious! Thank you for packing it in a way to stay hot from Hatfield to Greenfield.

A great variety of soups daily with enormous delicious popovers makes a complete meal.

Taking a trip up to NH from NY and didn't want your usual fast food lunch stop. So we mapped out a few restaurants and came upon this sweet little cafe. So many soup options, amazing sandwich choices and even a bakery with delicious choices. To boot--I am gluten free and ALL the soups were GF, bread for the sandwiches and I walked out with a GF carrot cake cupcake. I felt like it was my birthday. If you get the chance - make this your next stop. You won't be disappointed.

Wanted to like it, especially since Webster’s shut down!! Ordered the fried shrimp dinner, no no no!! There was no crisp to anything, the shrimp slid out of a thin limp almost white thin coating of unseasoned flour when I picked it up, fries would have been ok if cooked at a hotter temp., just limp.. didn’t try the slaw.., ate 9 naked shrimp and dumped the rest, decent people and service... good chowder in the past... but they need to take a look at their recipes and cooking methods.. at this point it’s just a waste of food.
