Very disappointed with the Lady Boss’s RUDE attitude … she certainly reflected NOT of the Taiwanese roots.
However, the lady server was nice. Lady Boss should learn from her server.
We ordered 7 items, only Chow Fun n Pork Congee were ok, the rest were 🫤

The food is soooo good! Especially the Eggplant with Sweet and Spicy Garlic Sauce, the Pork and Pickled Radish Noodle soup, and Stir-fried vegetables in garlic (we got string beans)!

Excellent Taiwanese food! My recs: tofu salad, scallion pancakes and the sweet steamed buns to start. My absolute favorite entree is the ma la bean curd chefs special, but honestly it's hard to go wrong. They have an extensive menu, something for everyone.

Came here on halloween, understand that its busy and all that. The food itself was the most mid, tasteless food I've had so far in Northampton. I feel like if you ever experienced the most basic decent asian food from literally anywhere else it would be better. I got Tofu/Veggie curry and it was watered down with no flavor or taste at all. A scallion pancake that took even longer to come out than the main dishes, and a noodle bowl chicken dish, but it ended up coming out wrong with the wrong noodles and the girl acted like she would take it to fix, but ended up just leaving it because no one was attentive to the table. I think if youve maybe never had asian food before this place might be good, and thats what I heard according to the people next to us aswell lol.

The food was amazing! We walked around all day and this was perfect. We suggest the vegetable lo mein and the vegetable curry!

I ordered a veggie stirfry and got steamed broccoli with absolutely nothing on it but bits of garlic. Very disappointed do not order the vegetable stirfry. It is not stirfry at all.

I lived in Taiwan for several years and this place has super authentic Taiwanese street food and other typical dishes. A lot of this is hard to find in restaurants in the US, and I was so excited by the menu here! There were lots of vegetarian options, and everything was delicious and well presented. The server was very helpful and friendly. I wish I lived a lot closer than 2 hours away so I could go all the time!

Service was great. We only ordered one dish and it was mediocre…

Tried T. Roots for a bird to eat today. Ordered the hot and sour soup, which was HUGE! Fill bowl of super heated soup, took forever to cook down, but actual spice was not very spicy, but had good taste. The ingredients were very different from regular Chinese restaurant hot and sour. Wife had udon veggie noodles, which was a smaller portion, certainly compared to the soup. We also had soup dumplings, which were 'okay, but made elsewhere and bought, nit prepared on-site. Overall was good.

I would give a 5 out of 5 but the past 2 times I have gone there, the service was not friendly. 1 of them was watching and hovering over us the last hour of closing. We left 20 minutes before because it was uncomfortable but the food is delicious.

We were in Northampton on graduation weekend, and had difficulty getting into good restaurants, so had to settle for this one, upon recommendation from our daughter's non-Asian professor. No trouble getting seated. One puts down order at the downstairs counter, pays for it, and waits at one's table. Service was definitely fast and efficient. We were a party of 4 - 2 herbivores and 2 carnivores. The rice paper vegetable roll was the best tasting out of all the dishes we ordered. Scallion pancake with vegetable wrap was innovative but a bit dry. Spicy Tofu salad was very salty, and the vegetable tofu curry was quite bland. Report about the beef noodle and shrimp fried rice was also just adequate. I guess we were just happy that we didn't go hungry that night :-).

I recently had my first experience trying Taiwanese food, and it was absolutely amazing! I decided to go with the beef stewed noodle soup, which was rich and flavorful. The broth was perfectly seasoned, and the noodles had just the right texture, making it a comforting dish that I couldn't get enough of. To compliment my meal, I ordered a refreshing passion fruit green tea with boba.
I was so impressed with the food and overall experience that I couldn't resist coming back for a second visit to indulge in more delicious dishes. I'm definitely looking forward to exploring more Taiwanese dishes in the future!

We arrived at 815p and they said they were only doing take out (they didn’t close until 9p). Service definitely lacks warmth the many times I’ve been there. Mei fun and vegetable fried rice were lacking flavor, the rest was good.
Why this place isn’t pumping on a Saturday night near Smith College is beyond me.
