i was physically shoved by someone from the bakery after spending $6 on an iced tea. i was standing in the wrong place and instead of making eye contact and using adult words, this woman used her shoulder to shove me out of the way. mediocre food and even worse attitudes.
also where are the bread, baguettes, and cakes this place used to be known for????? i think that baker made the smart decision to leave Tart

Great service and amazing baked goods. We had the apricot danish and the pecan sticky bun and they were so good we returned for some tarts to take home - lavender lime and Boston cream tarts. My daughter got the cold brew with coconut syrup and really enjoyed it.
Don’t go here

The pastry although looking elegant has never tasted right.
After returning from France and being spoiled with the high quality pastry there I was not expecting the same experience but the scone ordered this morning was dry, doughy and very disappointing.
Other pastry I’ve had there has also
Never been delicious or memorable.
The prices unfortunately donot reflect high quality pastry.

Cute lil place. I got a lox and bagel with cream cheese. I was hoping the bagel was gonna be house made but it seemed store bought. The cream cheese was good though. My only regret was that I didn't come with a bigger appetite as the dessert looked amazing.

Every croissant is always delicious, especially almond. Croissant sandwiches are delicious, too. So are all the cookies. The ginger cookies... Mmmmmmmm. Everything here has always been outstanding.

I got the fruit tart, and to be honest, it was the worst thing I’ve ever had in my life. I couldn’t eat even a small bite and ended up throwing the entire tart in the trash. It was completely inedible and tasted like actual garbage.

Totally bummed to hear that they don’t actually bake bread here anymore? What a huge loss- I wish I understood the motivation for dropping the best part of the business.

Very very sad that the quality of croissants and other baked goods at Tart went from the sublime to the ridiculously ordinary. I've heard that they are no longer actually baking anything there, so I'm wondering where their excellent baker(s) went - does anyone know? They've lost a passionate customer of many years.

Someone left a large bag of tart pastries out for students to get for free at my college, and the food was AMAZING! I am so grateful and they have gained a new customer! Delicious

Great spot for delicious and decadent pastries, sandwiches, bread and coffee. Can get busy at times, but quick and efficient counter service definitely helps!

I love Tart! They (still) have the best almond croissants, among other pastries. Every coffee drink I’ve tried there has been delicious. The service is always friendly too!

For years I bragged that Tart Bakery in Northampton had the best chocolate and almond croissants in the world. This was not entirely empty braggadocio having sampled the wares of bakeries in France, Italy, and Quebec, among other locales.
I was therefore shocked and disappointed recently when I tried both croissants after a recent 2 month hiatus. The fact that the croissants looked different was not the issue. The newly formulated croissants were ordinary and inferior; similar to a product you’d buy in a supermarket. They were no longer light, flakey and buttery. Instead, they were heavy and chewy. Most disappointing was the chocolate croissant. Rather than being filled with high quality chunks of chocolate, the croissant was sliced open and schmeared with a chocolate spread not dissimilar to Nutella.
I am not the only person who’s (negatively) commented on these changes. My hope is that the owners take heed and change back to the recipes they’ve been using for years, for the sake of their devotees and before their business goes down the tubes.

When we visit Northampton we stop @ Tart Baking Co on the way out for sandwiches for the trip home. Their sandwiches are 5-stars. Gorgeous ingredients, thoughtfully composed and beautifully presented. Country chic and picnic perfect! Order a sandwich and you’ll be pleasantly surprised when you open your box.
