Very disappointed with the Sunday Brunch. And quality of and variety of food. Also Manager very negative and plain rude in responding to a request for some plain sliced bread. Serving staff polite, but appeared understaffed. Desert table was no better than the rest of for variety and quality. Disappointed to say the least. My previous experience there had been much better in the past. :(

Ate 2 meals Buffet style; Dinner and Brunch. The need for service was small, so I don't really know how it would have been if I needed everything delivered rather than helping my self. The food is quite pedestrian. (this means anyone, even a teenager, can make food of equal quality)The techniques for cooking were the problem, because the variety and dishes were actually good-- could have been good.DinnerThe pasta dish; the pasta was so overcooked it was falling apart, rigatoni but not a single piece of pasta was still in its tube shape.I did not try the chicken or the pilaf. They had a sweet potato, kale and (another vegetable) dish that was good and could have been a superstar had the potato in the dish not been overcooked and pasty. The rolls were just Sysco boxed rolls, bland and dry.BrunchThe eggs benedict were good and as expected. The waffles and French toast were dried out; but the whipped creams to put on them were just right, lightly sweet and fluffy. Bacon, Sausage, as expected. There was a honey mustard Salmon with green beans that was very good; and a frisee, cranberry, apple and pickled red onion salad which was the best.At both meals, the same dessert spread; petit fours and such, but no dessert item any better than treats you can get a a Starbucks.I found the dry waffles with the caramel whip cream to be way better than any dessert they had on offer.IMO, a grand old lady hotel like this should have a Pastry chef, and some dishes specially for the space. And what a unique and amazing space it is. It should be a go to location for all 18th century reenactment groups to have their awards banquet. D&D players would have elevated campaigns in these rooms. If only the food were better prepared.

BRUNCH!!! Truly one of my most favorite words of all time. Back in my youthful bartending days a group of us service workers would meet up for BRUNCH, almost every Sunday we would pick a different restaurant for BRUNCH.... It was lovely, good times and memories made. Sooo let's fast forward 25 yrs, I still love brunch and last Sunday we (my wife & son) hit up Wiggins Tavern inside the Hotel Northampton. First, the hotel is charming in its own manner, then we found our way to Wiggins Tavern : rustic yet classy & cozy. The manager was super helpful in placing us in a quiet area (my son has sensory issues). Our server Johnny was professional & personable. He went out of his way to make sure all was good with our son. (Tip went up) The food!!!! OMG....Wiggins Tavern nailed BRUNCH 100%. Shrimp cocktail on ice, melt in your mouth Prime Rib, Chicken piccata, eggs Benedict, Waffles, French Toast! YES CHEF we raise our glass of Bloody Mary to you!! Not all hero's wear capes. Superb Bloody Mary... not too hot, just the right amount of spice! The desert table was amazing: it had a variety of pastries, strawberry and fresh whipped cream, and hand dipped chocolate covered Oreos.... WHAT, HOLLA!!!!! We give Wiggins Tavern 5/5 Mai Tai's on our restaurant Mai Tai rating scale: 1. Ambiance & Cleanliness 2. Service: waiter, hostess, manager 3. Food: variety & quality 4. Bar: drink quality & cleanliness 5. Price point/ value for our money Wiggins checked off all the boxes!! We strongly recommend trying their Brunch, reservations is a MUST!!! Note: I read a few reviews before going. There were a couple negative reviews that were soooo far off base. Probably trolls trying to stir the pot... so ignore.

Total disaster. Food was bad, like real bad. Had the scallops entree with crab risotto. Scallops were hilariously over-salted and overcooked. The crab risotto was a consistency completely foreign to most western food, somehow rubbery and mushy at the same time. Taste wasn't good either. Service was ATROCIOUS. It was a relatively slow night, and multiple bartenders were working, yet simple drink requests took 20 minutes and were often brought to the table incorrectly. They also starting "closing down" at 9:45pm even though people kept coming in and out. Waitress was flat out rude. Truly bizarre experience.

Stopped here for their fantastic Sunday Brunch buffet. All the choices we made were very tasty. Be sure to make a reservation. ( ps: the only reason for 4 stars on service is it was very busy and the staff was running to try to keep up!)

The food and variety is good. There's an omelette station along with the other standards for a brunch. The day we visited, they had mini desserts; baby cannoli, cheesecake bites, etc... Not sure if that's the norm for the dessert station but it should be. I love, love, love how charming they've kept it.

Despite the recent negative reviews, we braved it because we really wanted a full buffet brunch experience and Wiggins Tavern did not disappoint. I haven't seen this type of lavish buffet since pre-pandemic and was truly impressed at the extensive options. Not everything was fantastic-- salmon was a bit fishy, the cinnamon cream tasted like it was Cool Whip to me, and the dessert buffet looked impressive but many of the desserts were the type that you get in bulk from your food service provider and defrost. However, the fruit salad, shrimp and (surprisingly!) green beans were very very good. We are pescatarian so a lot of the options weren't for us, but I still have no complaints about the variety and generally good quality. Everything was hot enough for us (despite previous diner's complaint). It's not an inexpensive meal, and I think you would get more bang for your buck as a carnivore here, but if you want to splurge on a nice Sunday buffet brunch in a cozy Colonial environment with extensive selection to keep everyone happy, I don't think you could do better than Wiggins Tavern. Was it the best breakfast we had in town? No, Jake's was better in terms of flavor and quality, but in terms of being able to make a reservation in advance and sit right down to our meal, Wiggins Tavern had the advantage there and would be the place I'd choose if I was there with older members of my family.

Wonderful Sunday Brunch buffet! Cailean was so wonderful! Delicious food, drinks and desserts! The chicken cordon bleu was my favorite.

My husband and I brought our family here for brunch. Everything looked delicious and our server was awesome. The only disappointment, and it was major, was that the only item that was truly hot was the coffee. All the breakfast items were a bit below lukewarm. I don't know if someone forgot to light the burners or if it always like that. We won't be spending that sort of money there again.

Please do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. Worst service, disgusting food, rude and obnoxious bartender. Bartender stomped his feet at a request for drinks other than wine, out of draft beer. Espresso machine down Flat bread served was a frozen cheese pizza, fish and chips were overcooked, drenched in deep dark grease, lobster rolls were imitation, breakfast burger missing breakfast components. Nachos were also awful. So disappointing, so much for a celebratory grad meal. Manager, no where in sight. Total failure. 1 star is too much Avoid at all costs
