Best spot for quick great breakfast during the week! A real hidden gem, their hours are a little different and might deter some but they are worth getting up and out the door for! Fun kitchen atmosphere!

In Northborough's heart, a beacon bright,Chet's Diner stands, a morning's delight.Since 1931, its chrome gleams bold,A haven for stories, both young and old.Step through the door, greeted by warmth,The scent of coffee, a breakfast storm.Red vinyl booths and a counter long,Where waitresses hustle with mugs and song. The stools, well-worn, with a friendly sigh,Hold countless dreams that have drifted by.Truckers and townsfolk, a daily blend,Sharing news 'til the very last crumb transcends. On the counter, a sprinkle of sunlight falls,Illuminating chipped mugs on the red Formica walls.A worn menu, its pages dog-eared and wise,Promises comfort with each breakfast sunrise.Homemade hash, a glorious mound,Scrambled eggs, fluffy and golden brown.Pancakes that tower, a buttermilk dream,Syrup cascading, a sugary stream.Bacon that sizzles, a crispy delight,Sausage links gleaming, oh what a sight!Coffee bottomless, strong and dark,Fueling the morning, leaving its mark.More than just breakfast, a feeling it brings,Of community spirit, the joy that it sings.Jessica, the owner, with smile so bright,Keeps the tradition burning ever so light.Nancy Pantazis, a legend they say,Carried the torch in a bygone day.The Strazero family, before her time,Each adding a verse to this diner's rhyme.Chet's Diner, a landmark it stands,A testament to time, held strong in our hands.May its chrome shine on, a beacon so true,A taste of nostalgia, forever brand new.

Everything that's right about local diners. The first thing I noticed was how well they knew their clientele. They clearly know their regulars, but made us welcome. The waitress took her time with us and made sure we got exactly what we wanted. The food was everything I would have wanted, aside from the toast being a little darker than I like, but then I like my toast light and I didn't share that information, so 100% my fault.I had a pancake with blueberries which was huge and delicious. I also had eggs and bacon. I admit I am not an American bacon fan, but this super thin bacon was SO tasty. I also had my daughter's sausage links she didn't want, and they were very nice too. The coffee was very good! The waitress was busy as this place stays full all the time it seems, but she was attentive and friendly. Food took a little while, but wasn't excessive. The cook was outspoken and full of energy which gave the place a lovely feel and made any wait we had kind of funIt's cash only, but there is an ATM inside. Their hours are weekday only and they close at 11, so make sure you get there in time and I am sure you will love it.

Five stars for being a great example of its genre but all five would be fairly earned just for the blueberry pancakes. We've lived up the road for years, and never thought to get here before they close at 11 a.m. We won't make that mistake any more. All they do is breakfast and they do it astonishingly well.Besides the plate sized pancakes, my Greek omelet was scrumptious and the fresh ingredients included whole leaves of spinach. And a word here about the energy of the place: the staff works hard, and they're obviously having fun and committed to producing quality meals for a clientele they largely know and love.A visit to Chet's Diner will brighten your day!
