Tasty and genuine Chinese food cooked by the long time owner... Just hope he doesn’t retire any time soon.

I stopped at Jade City when I went to see a friend at Wheaton College. I’ve never written any review before but am writing this one because the food was extremely bad. My take out had a gray color and slimy look. It smelled like freezer burned leftovers. I didn’t bother complaining to the guy at the counter, he seemed to be in a bad mood already. I chucked the food out and got fries at McDonald’s .

Terrible. We couldn’t eat the take out we bought for a family meal. $80 worth of food put into the trash. It tasted so bad we were afraid we’d get sick if we ate it.

Food wasn’t just bad it was gross. I’ve never seen or tasted anything as disgusting as the entrees we were given. Oily, stale and actually smelled like 2 week old bread . Literally inedible. I threw everything out. I would warn anyone thinking of eating here to go in the opposite direction .

Sooooo bad. Actually made me feel ill. Everything had a nasty stale flavor. The fried rice was tasteless and greasy The General Tai’s chicken was stale and so tough it couldn’t be chewed. It took 45 minutes for our order and we ended up throwing the food out.

I hate at this time to have to give any business a bad review. But my husband and I since the pandemic have decided to order more from local places to help support small businesses. Today I tell my husband that I was really craving some of there Singapore noodles which I love. He goes in and orders 4 Singapore noodles as our kids wanted some as well. The owners first words were it will take to long, I’m on the phone and I’m like how long he said over half hour. I tell my husband he sounds like he doesn’t want to make it so my husband tells him ok then forget it he said great bye!!! Who does that at this time when everyone is is trying to survive these crazy times completely disappointed we will take our business elsewhere.

I inquired about the menu as I had never been to this restaurant before. I was greeted with nothing but pushy, workers that acted as if I was wasting their time. I was the only one in the place at 8pm on a Thursday night. I received horrible rude service from two middle aged workers, man and woman, I assume probably the owners. They were loud, abrupt, and rude. I walked out without even ordering anything. When I explained my encounter with new friends from the area, they said I dodged a bullet because the food sucked anyway. It's a shame that business owners do not know how to properly communicate with customers. Very sad.
