I’m from the Caribbean, I cook Caribbean food, I LOVE Caribbean food. This restaurant is not authentic and disappointing. Seasoning is a must in ANY cuisine. Rice and peas - soggy, no salt, no coconut. Milk, onions or thyme Broccoli - no garlic no salt, not even steames Jerk chicken- not authentic. Not seasoned. Oxtail - not seasoned, weird taste. That’s what we ordered. Very disappointed !!!

This is not an authentic Caribbean restaurant. The food lack the true Caribbean flavors. The food is not season well. The price is completely ridiculous for what they are selling. AVOID the curry goat. They fry plantains with the skin still on. I am extremely disappointed, please do not waste your money or time at this place.

10 toes down Chief Deon put his foot in this food the way it taste good, got me wanting more of an authentic Caribbean flavor correct portions, Aroma flavors and taste so sweet “ make you want slap your mama”!!!! It’s worth the price and should be one of the taste of the “Vineyard”!!!!!

I love to pick up picnic food from here! They have awesome hours and are open at days and times where others aren't. Their menu is diverse and have specials changing. Such a locals favorite, and Chef Deon does amazing things for the community.
I've been going to patronize Chef Deon for a few years now. This year, something was off. We waited over an hour for our food then to have send it back because it was either cold or not cooked properly. The wait staff was sweet and tried to be as accommodating as possible but the situation was beyond their control.

Overall, the food was ok. The oxtail (when you could get it) and curry goat were the best dishes. The biggest problem is the wait. It shouldn’t not take as nearly 90 mins or more to get a meal, especially for fish dishes. Nor, should you order, wait 90 mins and then find out they’re out of the dish you ordered. It was honestly absurd. To top it off, they fry the plantain with the skins on! No one does that anywhere. It was seriously off putting. As I said, the food was ok but I will not be back any time soon.

The younger waitress took our order and then never put the order in. About an hour later, a 2nd waitress delivering food to another table that came after me, asked what my table had ordered. Then 20 min later, the 1st waitress came back and said she would give us 2 free desserts since she neglected to put in our order and then hurried away before I could even register what she said. Also there were 4 people in my party so I don't know why it wouldn't be 4 desserts.
Later, the 2nd waitress came back and apologized that the 1st waitress didn't put in the order. But she argued with us to the point that another patron came over to us and questioned the interaction. Despite the back and forth, the 2nd waitress was good and brought out our food and took care of us for the rest of the night. I didn't like the 1st waitress because she never apologized, let alone show any amount of contrition.
My last complaint is that the bill automatically included 18% gratuity, which was way too much for the poor service I received. But I wasn't charged for my two appetizers nor the two desserts, and I really wanted to leave so I paid my bill without arguing. I will not be returning, but others in my party said they will only do take out and never eat in again.

A very funky place with all sorts of nostalgia on the walls. The food is very authentic Caribbean, tasty, can be spicy, and BIG portions. Almost no need for appetizers because most people will take home the leftovers of their main dish. Definitely, we have to go back and try a dozen other dishes.

Honest and attentive service with exceptional food! Chef Deon’s Kitchen exceeded our expectations with their Caribbean/soul food flair. Everything was delicious and thoughtfully prepared and the staff was remarkable. From beef patties, wings, conch fritters, oxtails, jerk chicken, curry goat, escovitch, salmon, pork chops, mashed potatoes, mac n cheese, and rice and peas… we had a big party and ventured the menu. I’m sure everything we didn’t try was just as amazing! Pay them a visit! You will not be disappointed!
