Loved, loved, loved this spot. Ate there twice. My husband had the chowder both times. We are from Atlanta and we don't always find good seafood here. I don't eat meat, and they had various options for me. The Mushroom burger was really good. Highly recommended!

We had a ferry to catch and came here for a quick bite. We mentioned this to our server and she ensured we were in and out in 30 minutes by the clock. Ordered a lobster bisque and a grilled chicken sandwich and both preparations were absolutely delicious! The bisque was thick and full of lobster pieces. The chicken sandwich was crispy and surprisingly delicious for a seafood restaurant. We went during lunch hours early in the season and the place was largely empty and amply staffed. The interiors are all wooden and the place has a ship theme. There is a full bar. Overall, would recommend this place.

Delicious Clam Chowder, fish & chips, and BBQ chicken wings. The Winter Power Salad portion was so huge that it was enough for 4 people.Service by Tyla was friendly and personable. The atmosphere is comfortable and traditional with a long bar with multiple TV screens. .Parking: Timed street parking. Can be difficult in summer months.

Wow! The best clam chowder! Filled with carefully cut up pieces of the potatoes and clams delightfully seasoned and gluten free!!! Had to sample my Nieces lobster Mac, creamy, cheesy, and lobster beyond expectation! Other family members raved about the lobster roll which coukd also be made gluten free! As New Yorkers, they were totally immersed in the flavor!! We came just before closing, and took it to go, which can be sketchy, but it was an incredible meal to enjoy on the last ferry home! Thanks!

First trip to Martha's Vineyard and the Chowder Co. did not disappoint. Portions were big, drinks were fantastic and our server was great. Next time we come to Martha's Vineyard, we will definitely be eating here again!

We visited off season but made reservations anyway, just in case. Our waiter, John, was excellent. Had the oysters, old bay wings, steak poivre and the clam chowder (of course). Everything was superb, especially the steak.

Came in just to try the chowder and it was fine. The broth was tasty but too thin for my preference. If you like thinner chowders then this might be for you.

Way over priced for the food you get. Clip joint in my opinion.

My husband and I had a lovely meal at the bar while waiting for our ferry. The friendly bartender brewed us up some great cocktails, and they have a good wine selection. The clam chowder is easily the best I've had. We shared an order of swordfish piccata as well, and it was also good. The reason I haven't given the food five stars is that both the chowder and the main dish were VERY salty, definitely to a fault. So while I loved the fact that the chowder wasn't thick and gloopy like so many others, and that it was filled with fresh clams and that the clam flavor wasn't overshadowed by bacon, I'm glad I only had a cup--anything more would have been a salt lick. I have been a culinary professional for 24 years. I understand that it's common for restaurants to salt more than home cooks, but the chef at the Chowder House needs to dial it back a notch. Thanks for a lovely evening. We really did enjoy ourselves.

We received oysters on time but there was dirt on them. The horseradish on the cocktail sauce was old and dried up. It was almost unrecognizable. We did not receive a plate for our oyster shells. The tofu salad was a large bowl of lettuce that was wet without dressing and 10 cubes on tofu. Another order with fries had a hair in them. The Ahi Tuna was fine but was not very flavorful. An order of fried cod was thrown onto the plate seemingly, not in one piece. Our server was literally running from one end of the restaurant to the other. He was making drinks, clearing dishes, and correcting other orders that were sent back. This reflects poorly on management with the restaurant being understaffed. Our server apologized to us even though we didn’t say anything. He did a good job but service was at its limit. Food quality was good but with the number of staff it was difficult for the front of the restaurant to work effectively with the back and vice versa to meet the demand. It is not a good look especially with a $20 cancellation fee per person. Obviously there is a high standard from the restaurant, it should be reflected to the customer.
