Music was awful. We left after an hour on a Friday night. Who is the audience for this garbage?

The owner of this place loves replying to reviews rudely… curious to see what they will say to mine!

Rambunctious, lively, patrons; friendly staff, and good food. I especially enjoyed the interactions with the waitstaff.
Love it... I'll be back
We ordered a couple of oyster Po'boys at $26/per. What came out were two hotdog rolls w/ some (4 each) over fried oysters. The menu claims they were suppose to be brioche rolls. I lived in New Orleans for years and these were a sad excuse to Po'boys. The hamburgers looked good, but at these prices they better be. Lots of fries, typical MV clip joint. Caesar salad was small and the chicken nuggets ok, I guess. The Pinot Noir was sickeningly sweet, cheap, plonk! We tried the Key Lime pie, cheap, overly sweet cheesecake. MV Clip Joint is all this place is, go somewhere else.
My wife and I just passed by and we decided to try just because of the name. Turned out to be the BEST place we ate on our vacation. At first I thought the chowder was a little thin but once we dug in we found it to be the best chowder we had out of at least 10 places, it was so chunky and flavorful! This was the first place we tried a lobster roll and we fell in love with the place. We made it a priority to go back before we left the island! EAT HERE!
The best Fish and chips We can recommend the restaurant. The fish is fresh and excellent service. The waitress was attentive and polite.
Overall I’d say the food here is pretty good. I like their chowder and was an big fan of their fried Portabello mushrooms. Not such a big fan of their tuna tartare or the steak sandwich. Sitting on the balcony was nice. Service was ok a bit slow and disinterested.
The food was mediocre. Two people in our party had the chowder and neither ate it. It was much too salty and peppery, and had an added artificial smoke flavor. The service was slow and inattentive. The prices weren't even low enough to make bad food and bad service expected. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant.
We arrived at 7:30 on a Wednesday in high season (last week in August) and the place was mostly empty. We found out why. The clam chowder was a good fundamental preparation that was ruined by having an insane amount of salt in it. My wife didn't mind--she's a salty snack fiend--but I found it awful. Then, having ordered steak-au-poivre from the entre menu, I was served a steak sandwich. How the server could confuse a steak-au-poivre order specified medium rare for steak sandwich is beyond me. The chef came out to apologize, and I specified to him medium rare (warm pink center). It came out totally rare (cool red center). The sauce wasn't bad but the meat was so chewy that I only ate half of it. Then a bizarre weirdness on the bill. I had a scotch on the rocks, and the bill had a charge for the drink plus a $2 surcharge for "ice." I asked the bartender what that was about and he said that if you order a whisky with no ice they only give you a little bit of liquor, but with ice you get more liquor so they charge more. Huh??? If I order my scotch "neat" because I get more flavor at room temperature without dilution from melting ice, they think that means I only want only a little bit of it? How ridiculous is that? I can't imagine what these people are thinking, but fortunately this is the only place I've run into such absurdity in all my 78 years. For me this place rated terrible and I was not surprised when it was still mostly empty when we left at 8:30. But I upgraded the rating to poor because my wife liked all the salt and she was happy with her salmon.

This restaurant served the best meal that we had while on the island. The lobster roll was superb. A half pound of fresh lobster on a Brioche roll was served with shoe string fries. I also tried the clay chowder which was the best I found on our trip to Boston and MV. It is made right at the restaurant and not shipped in per our waiter. Every bite had clams. Fresh ground black pepper was placed on top. This is a must to try! The service was excellent and the restaurant had a beautiful long mahogany bar where we sat for lunch and cocktails.
Always a good stop on our annual vacation - not this year. What happened? Extended party all agree that dinners were way over salted - not fresh? Overcooked? Definitely. And heavily over-sauced to compensate. Even the South Beach martini recipe altered :( Management must be feeling the stress - when contacted by text as directed the manager caught in outright lie regarding who in the party had received compensation - when there was no need - do you think we don't speak with each other? Anyway, their loss of repeat customers. Be forewarned - dining out too expensive these days to know beforehand that the meal may disappoint.
Just visited for drinks but experienced really good and attentive service. Would visit for food in the future when in the area.
Food is good. My only complaint is with the bill. Waiter brings a card reader to the table. All that shows up is the total. No itemized bill. So I left a 20+% tip. All the while the waiter stands there staring at us. Then after paying, along comes our e-receipt which indicated they ALREADY added 20% to our party of 6, so now we’ve been semi-tricked into tipping a total of 40%. If you do t read your receipt you’ll never know. JB, please stop this, it’s not cool. Please disclose up front that 20% gratuity is included!
This was the best clam chowder I have ever had. I kept saying the whole time I was eating “where are the potato’s”. Each spoonful of soup had plenty of clams and the cream base for the soup was not runny nor was it too thick. Yes…I would return just for the soup. We also ordered the calamari which was overdone and rubbery. Their cocktails are strong.
