I wanted to enjoy this place bc I thought it was an owner getting a bad rap. We ordered 3 food items, each one didnt come out at same time. The grilled cheese barely looked held together, the cheeseburger is on an English muffin so my child didn't eat it. We got a quesadilla, when it arrived it was made with mozzarella cheese or American, on a spinach roll. We were just going to not eat it and say nothing, we had already paid and didnt want to cause issues. The waitress asks us about it and we just said we didnt like it and weren't going to eat it, no need to get the owner. ....then gets the owner. He proceeds to lean in and came over confrontational, as a woman it made me feel uncomfortable. I explained it was not at all like authentic Mexican food, I thought it would be prepared in the style of the culture it originates from. He told me I was racist and he doesn't tolerate that and " thats how we make it". If anything its lazy and cultural appropriation to butcher a simple easy thing to make, and maybe it should say made American style or be removed from menu. Friendlys has more flavor than what we were served in their quesadillas. I wasn't asking for money back and the altercation could've been avoided, I didnt ask want or need for him to approach us. I was not expecting the entire confrontation, it sent me into fight or flight.. I am not proud of the word I called him in front of kids ( although accurate) and others, and how I responded. I wish we just went to Marc Anthony's or any other place. I'd suggest you do the same. Looking at the reviews, it appears he has a history himself of discrimination and overcharging, and will argue if anyone wants their money back, one story where the customers were in the right and the police still had to ask them to leave. Another a customer assaulted, no wonder I felt unsafe. Sheisty business. I should have remembered what Gordon Ramsey said.. the bigger the menu the less quality, this fits his restaurant.

Went here to grab a bite to eat with the kids. Would give it zero stars if I could. Should have read the reviews because they are absolutely spot on about the owner and the food it's the same as his attitude , like NY trash washed up on the Onset shore. Ordered the kids a "burger" and grilled cheese sandwich and a chicken quesadilla... Ten minutes later what looks like toasted bread with a slice of dollar store cheese comes to the table....5-10 min later a scrap of hamburger on an English muffin (kids burger , cause we all know how kids love English muffins ). It looked unappealing to say the least she would not even try it Then after we ordered a drink and finished it the "quesadilla" arrived .... In a spinach wrap. Took a bite and can honestly say the flotsum that washes up on the shore has more appeal. There were maybe 7 or 8 small bits of chicken scattered on a spinach wrap throughout the dollar store cheese that tastes and looked like plastic. Didn't have a problem because buyer beware and figured it's just another tourist scamming beach spot that passes off low quality food and expects the atmosphere to make up for it. Was just going to leave, didn't want anything else. The waitress asked how it was...so I told her it wasn't good at all, it's on a spinach wrap and was basically cheese. Told her we didn't want anything and was all set but she went and told the owner who immediately took the offensive. As we ordered a ''quesadilla " you would expect it to be made in a somewhat authentic way....and if not it should be labeled in the menu if it's made different, just like the kids "burger" which is a perfect example of poor culinary and cooking choices for the simplest of food When asked why it wasn't made Mexican style the owner decided to take the high road and call my girlfriend racist, I'm sure the regular patrons and staff are used to customers being upset by his piss poor attitude and no business sense or accountability. If I had read the reviews I would have known the owner is confrontational, he decided to get verbally aggressive and sounded completely desperate to defend the jersey shore garbage he sells to tourist.

Thank you for my "feel better" food yesterday. After suffering from 24 hours of dehydrating illness, my son stopped by to get my "recovery" food, tomato soup and grill cheese. Thank you for always making the best tomato basil soup and awesome grill cheese sandwich.

We went to the restaurant for the first time on opening day for the season. We met the owner Frank and talked with him quite a bit. He is a very nice guy and seems to really care about his staff and the quality of his food.

First let me talk about the food. This is not your average beachside grille. Sure they have burgers pizza and chicken fingers but they have so much more. Seafood, wraps, burritos, sandwiches, it goes on and on! You will definitely not be short of choices.

But don’t expect a bunch of frozen items tossed in fryer. Frank has been a chef and owner at half a dozen restaurants and he is making from scratch food. Fish and chips? They bread the fish the fresh fish and put it in the fryer. You are going to wait a bit longer for your meal here because fresh takes time, and you are going to pay more than you do at the average beachside grille. But you are getting legit chef made food that is fresh, delicious, and unique.

The restaurant has 8 or so tables inside and a bunch outside on the deck. Frank owns the building and the beach in front of it so take your meal to go and sit on the beach.

This place is a hidden gem that they should be writing reviews from Boston magazines at. Some of the bad reviews I see are people who expect their sandwich in 10 minutes even though they are told things take longer. If you come with the right expectations you will be blown away by the food here. Yes it will cost more but you aren’t getting frozen fish fillets and chicken fingers. You are getting fresh food prepared to order.

If you don’t want to wait call ahead and have it waiting for you and you can dig right in when you get there.

We will be back!

I don’t mind plastic cutlery and paper plates, I don’t mind expensive meals. $30 dinners with mediocre food in a plastic bowl is a hard pass. Many better places around.

Friendly vibe, great views, excellent service and sandwiches bigger than my head. Seriously. I could only eat half. Amazing French fries. Definitely stop in. Much preferred to the spots up the road.
