Cooke’s is a fantastic spot for casual Cape Cod eats. We had a lobster roll and a lobster taco as take-away orders. Both were tasty, but the lobster taco was absolutely better value. It had plenty of lobster meat, and the accompanying fries were actually the best part of our order. They were perfectly cooked and seasoned, and the portion was overly generous. We kept eating them long after they got cold. They were that good. This is not a fancy place, but it’s an especially good spot for take-away.

Cooke’s Orleans is one of the best seafood restaurants I have eaten in. The fried seafood was so good, not greasy at all and the batter very light. We had clams, shrimp, scallops and fries and yes also onion rings that were equally delicious and light. Our friends from south Boston who live on the Cape took us there. Thank you, L & G.
PS The service was excellent.

I really love the food here. I've had the best clam chowder in my life here, the comfort of good old kraft mac n cheese which my inner kid loves, great burgers and fries- and I have not yet had the opportunity to try more things on the menu, but maybe I will one day as my mouth is able to tolerate harder foods after recovering from an infection.
I will say though, that despite my love for the food and the atmosphere here, I will not be back for a long while. Maybe I will give it a try again next summer season.
I was eating and everything was fine, but towards the end of my meal, I was attacked by about 7 fruit flies which was not only gross but a bit anxiety inducing. I managed to kill them all, but I have PTSD and there was an awful time in my life after the pandemic where there was an infestation in my home, my physical health was also in awful shape, and I was at war with these things for hours on end while I was trying to do my job as a remote call center rep as they tried to fly into every single facial orifice and my eyes while I was working.
I'm thankful my mental health is in a better place now where I was able to handle it, and it's sad that things have to end this way for now with me and Cookes, but I will come back eventually and see if you've cleared up the problem.
What worked for me was the little red apple traps on Amazon that come in single packages or by the dozen, and when the included liquid runs out, filling it with apple cider vinegar is the way to go.
Otherwise, everything seemed pretty clean.
You might have a better experience if you sit in the middle of the dining room instead of the corner table by the oar and paintings.

Don't know about them being voted the best on Cape cod as the sign says but they were OK, nothing special. Pricey but I'm assuming this is typical for this area. I had better clams at the Lobster stop on Quincy yesterday. Too much breading here for my liking.
Staff was super friendly and welcoming.

Mostly self service. A couple excellent craft beers on draft. Not an atmosphere place nor is it cheap.

The fish was very good though quite bland
Shrimp were overly seasoned but ok. Coleslaw was good.
French fries were undercooked and inedible
No crunch whatsoever
How can a fried seafood place get that wrong?

For casual, quick family meals, it's our go-to. Perfect fried seafood. Great grilled, too. Local beer on tap.

I came in on an off season day. I was greeted kindly and ordered a cheeseburger and some pilaf. The woman at the front counter got me an iced coffee and said she would give me more if I wanted to top it off before leaving which I appreciated. When I got my burger it was a little undercooked for my liking and the woman was incredibly professional and kind about remaking my burger. The pilaf was great and she offered me more for my troubles. She turned the issue around with a kind smile and great service. I would recommend this place and the coffee was delicious too. Overall I enjoyed my visit and felt well taken care of and so I give five stars because the second burger was delicious and they treat people well here :) I also loved the late 80s playlist on the radio inside!
