Hog Island Beer Co is a must when in Orleans. As others have said, they've got great beer, great food, great staff AND they host great events!
All winter long they often have live music on the weekends, and I've heard some open mics and other events have been hosted as well. Here is a picture of Sarah Swain and the Oh Boys at some point in the fall of 2024. Fun events only pick up during the summer months, as one might expect!
If you're coming off the outer beaches, be sure to also check out the surf lounge (the hog island satellite spot) up in Wellfleet, just south of Marconi beach right on route 6. In addition to a good beer selection, last year they even had oysters on the half shell!

This place has no idea how to operate a business. We had time after dropping the kids off for mini golf… stood in line for a beer for 30 minutes as I write this and MAYBE 6 or 7 people were served. Still in line.
Edit - after 35 minutes we got beers. That were trash. After talking to some people in line we found that cape cod just doesn’t have a lot of breweries, so their ineptitude is overlooked as it’s pretty much a “ this is what we got” type of situation.

The drunken clams had a very good taste but I wasn't expecting a serving of sand with it. Better rinsing is needed. The Irish Red Ale was excellent.

Was there last night. Loved the place. The server was excellent
Do not pass up the opportunity to visit Hog Island Brewery!! THE FOOD - the lobster roll is like no other (seriously…secret ingredients), the burgers are half pound perfection, and the sweet potato fries, mmmm never had better! The beer selections, of course, there’s something for everyone! Fantastic service (Neal! Ashley! Hostesses!) and live music to feed the soul! Power Load rocked!

The beer we had was good but we were looking for more of a varied selection.

Recently visited Hog Island in Orleans and I loved this place. The service and atmosphere is fantastic with very friendly staff. I was alone and sat at the bar. Flights are 4 beers, but there were five I wanted to try so she let me get a fifth one. I am a snob with three things: Beer, pizza and burgers and the burger was one of the best I have ever had, cooked exactly as I ordered it, and the fries were nice and crisp. The bartender was just attentive enough and super friendly. (If I remembered her name I would call her out for being great). Not all the beers in my flight were winners to me, but they have two beers that I thought were really good: Outermost IPA and the Four Reels Pilsner. Next time I am in the area, this will be a priority destination.

Sadly, like a lot of breweries they start to trade off atmosphere to cram more people in. What was once a nice grassy area with corn hole has turned into a muddy field of picnic tables.

Truly horrible food. We had "flatbread" which was doughy and undercooked mess, basically dough slightly stretched to resemble flatbread with too much sauce and cheese - not a flatbread by any means. We also had the kashmir bowl, which was a bowl full of chickpeas with a few other vegetables and no taste and the "steak" we ordered to top it was gray inside. Lastly, the soup had been cooking/boiling for so long that it had separated. The young lady behind the bar was kind and definitely doing her best in light of the fact that they needed someone else behind the bar. The outside area was more like a playground, as there was a least one game to play. There were tons of children running around everywhere, including into the parking lot because there is no barrier/gate. It did not serve a as nice place to spend time with friends and definitely NOT a place to eat. Additional star for having paloma's on the menu!

Disappointed. Lobster roll listed at $26, saw later was charged $36. Food was ok. Was raining. Self-service if you sit inside. Inside felt like, and is, a storeroom. Seemed like I spent a lot for not that much. Just meh.

My second visit here, this time with adult family. The flights are a decent size and the beer is very good. The Brown Ale is the best I've had since my last UK trip. My son enjoyed the Outermost. We ate only appetizers, but the quantity was generous and the quality very good. Excellent service by attentive and engaged employees who seem to enjoy their jobs. Plenty of parking and very convenient to Orleans Center.
I can only ding them for the music being a tad too loud for conversation, But then, I'm a geezer. It was good music and the kids liked it.

Great lobster roll, bang bang shrimp, and fries. The cauliflower fritters are decent as well. The beers are hit or miss, but the Nauset Haze is solid. Definitely a cool spot to hang out, but service is rough at times. Last time we were there, there were only two bartenders handling drink and food orders for the 60+ people there. There seems to be inconsistency for when there is table service and bar service only.
