Great staff, all very friendly and helpful and keep the line moving. I always get Banana Oreo and it’s AMAZING. Perfect combination of flavors and the banana isn’t way over the top like some. I pack some up in the cooler and drive it 12 hours to Virginia so I can have it for a little longer!

Nice little place. Great tasting ice cream. I went with the two scoop sundae. Scoops are not huge, but they are enough. Multiple areas to sit. Clean and comfortable.

I have celiac disease and can have a hard time eating ice cream out. Not only did Smitty’s not balk at all when I told them my restrictions, a staff member who also has celiac disease stepped forward to assist me. She changed glove, got a fresh scoop AND opened a new container of the flavor I chose, to ensure there would be no cross contamination. I will come back here every time I am in town!

Caveat Emptor! I will preface this review by saying the ice cream is very good. My complaint with Smitty’s has to do with their pricing and business practices. We came into Smitty’s yesterday and purchased 5 pints of ice cream at $9.50 a pint for a total of $47.50. After paying for the ice cream we noticed that their ice cream is available in prepackaged varieties, including four of the five of the flavors we had purchased. I asked the counter person how much the prepackaged ice cream cost and she told me that it is nine dollars a quart. I expressed surprise because we had just paid $9.50 for a pint of hand packed ice cream. She proceeded to tell me that the prepackaged ice cream is filled by a machine and that you actually get more ice cream in the hand packed pints. I told her I found that hard to believe and that someone should have told us that the ice cream was available for less in a prepackaged container. She responded that we asked for a pint and they gave us a pint and the sale was final. I find this to be very strange. They should post the price of the prepackaged ice cream and the quantities prominently on the price list and and reveal this information to customers who come in and request a pint of ice cream.
