Years ago when Zagat had official reviewers in cities, not crowd-sourced ones as it does today, I was a reviewer in a few cities. Generally, I wrote reviews for great locations, which deserved kudos, and terrible ones where people needed to know better than to go. Regretfully, Nauset Beach Club falls into the later category. The execution of the food is unacceptablely low. The service is off. The reservation system is a run around--this set off warning bells for me that I should have heeded. The prices are silly for what you experience. It has been years since I regretted trying a new restaurant, until Nauset Beach Club tonight.

HOLY CRAP YOU GUYS DO NOT DO NOT DO NOT EVER EVER EVER COME HERE!!!!!!!!!!!! My dad and I went here for dinner to try something new for a change and the food was lovely as were the drinks and our waitress! She was very attentive and did her job well. As for the psychotic chef, who I am unfortunately assuming is the owner as well... he is another story. Long story short the bathrooms at the restaurant weren't in service? Both men and women's restrooms. This is not only a health code violation but how uncomfortable for us customers paying a $30 minimum to have to run across the street to BNI(where I should have started in the first place). When our check came at the end of our dinner, we posed to the chef/frightful owner that it is incumbent upon him to compensate, at minimum our drinks for the inconvenience. Never have I ever experienced such an overwhelmingly disgusting darkening of my doorstep by this owner in my face telling me "how much of a hardship it was for me to walk across the street to use the bathroom," then he proceeded to say directly to my father in front of my face "tell her to shut up!" I am DISGUSTED and I can honestly say in all of my life I have NEVER experienced this terribly VILE service.

This is hands down my favorite restaurant on Cape Cod, and I have covered a lot! The food is perfection. This is not a trendy Cape Cod restaurant. If you are looking for more than an average tourist destination, or looking for something other than a local dining establishment, this is your place. The Nauset Beach Club is old world, fine Italian dining with modern day martinis and a splash of quaintness only a friend's house could offer. "Bon appetite!"
