Great food, super nice people, great atmosphere. The little antiques shop in the back where the seating is is great. I had a brown rice bowl with pork and avocado and it was pretty good! I'd definitely be here all the time if I lived nearby.
The breakfast burrito was delicious!!! And HUGE!!! After having it for breakfast the leftover was way bigger than the size of a normal burrito!! I had it for 3 meals! Really!!! I live in western MA and drive to Boston frequently via rt 2 and I think I'll make this a regular 30 minute detour. Just 15 min each way off of 2.. And the place is sooo cool!! A great discovery and a worthy destination to go out of your way to get to. And the people are so friendly too! HIGHLY recommended!!!
Love this store so much! Interesting selection of items, groceries, and prepared foods.
Great experience, especially from the middle-aged bearded cashier. Larry?
Most unfriendly staff I have seen in a long time! Not one of the 3 working there bothered to say hello! Not interested at all there were customers.
I grew up in Petersham and even worked in the store as a teenager. It would never have been acceptable to not atleast be friendly!
Nothing about the store was warn or inviteing. In fact it was freezing inside. Couldn't even enough a coffee as it was so cold in the store.
Really sad to see especially in such a lovely town.
They have a good selection of candy and drinks 🍭🍭🍫🍫🍬🍬
Great, lots of items, but no sandwiches (after 3pm!)...friendly cashier.Clean ,neat.
Stopped by for a sandwich, did the build my own sandwich, got the pulled pork on chibata with lettuce, tomato, red onion and Swiss cheese! OMG this juicy, warm, messy, deliciousness just blew me away! I was only going to eat 1/2 and eat the rest later but nope, could not, would not stop eating it!!
Too loud.
This is not a traditional country story but a cafe serving breakfast and lunch along with selling local produce and alcohol. The website is informative, if a bit hard to read. I loved the charming Greek Revival style building. I will have to stop in again the next time I am in Petersham.

I took my mom out for an afternoon of catching up, shopping and of course, some yummy food. Her options are fairly different where she lives in TN so I love to spoil her whenever she's up this way. A few of her favs are Bar One, Thai Time and The Taco Spot but we were out in a different area this time and our route was taking us right by the Petersham Country Store so we made that our lunch spot.
Right as you walk in, the delicious smells enter your nasal passages and I knew this was going to be a tasty experience. The place is super cute, classic NE country store with a lovely variety of products and lots of stuff for the kids.
The menu is small but has some excellent options. I was excited to find out that they had a gluten free option for their sandwiches even though it's often a let down. I went with the Mango Curry Chicken Salad Sandwich (on GF bread) and a cup of the Seafood Chowder. My mom went with a burrito 🌯 (I don't recall which one exactly). My sandwich was fantastic and even the bread was great! I ate every last crumb! The chicken was juicy and tender with a lovely flavor and I don't know if the bread was homemade or what but there was nothing left. 😁 The chowder wasn't my favorite. It was good but a bit different on the flavor profile and just didn't line up with my buds. I'm sure others would really enjoy it.
The staff was also very pleasant and friendly and the fireplace burning in the back by the seating area was a toasty touch we both appreciated. Next time my travels take me to this area, I'll definitely be back for another sandwich!
Since the previous owner sold it, some of its charm and flavor left the building. Absolutely BLARING music coming and from the kitchen is ridiculous, not to mention the stoic faces and the TLT tastes completely different. Couldn't think you could find a more annoyed person to work and be at the front register than Larry, ( gentleman with the beard) but you managed to do that too.. That being said my lunch today was delicious ( not the tlt) and the gifts are always unique and charming but definitely not the welcoming atmosphere it used to be.
I wanted to call this place “the spot” but to my surprise after a few years away it has officially died. The coffee is worse than Starbucks. Owners looked like they’d rather be anywhere else than there, no smiles no conversation just a dying business. Came under dressed on purpose to see if that affected anything and it did sadly. There was no spirit of New England or Christmas just fleeting memories of a place that once had potential.
Awesome place
