I went to iALIVE with a friend of mine for lunch looking to increase my experience with Portuguese food. iALIVE was very good although I cannot remember the name of what I had. It was a pork and potato dish with little neck clams and a very tasty sauce. The portions were considerable and I was able to bring home leftovers, which was enough for another meal. The service was very good and the atmosphere was quiet and I was able to enjoy a nice conversation with my friend over lunch. There was a decent amount of parking adjacent to the building. Even though there seems to be a decent following among the local community, my friend and I were able to be seated right away and were also served our food in a timely fashion. Went recently for my first time with my Stepmom. We were celebrating my birthday. She was treating me to a belated birthday dinner. Our food wasn't hot, but didn't care too much because we were hungry. Our server had absolutely no personality and made us feel like we were a total inconvenience. We were tucked around a corner. My Stepmom and I haven't seen each other much lately and were catching up. The server kept checking if I was done or needed a box. This was around 8pm. They close at 9:30pm. Didn't ask if we wanted dessert and gave us the check. Not only did she keep looking around the corner to basically push us out the door, another server and/or employees did the same. The food was good, but this completely ruined our experience. Poor service and made us feel very uncomfortable. We left to get dessert somewhere else, unfortunately. I may try it again, but very hesitant after my first, disappointing experience. Definitely not going back anytime soon.
This place is the most local of local places when you go in your greeted by service staff that have been there forever. There's always a great smile enjoy when you go in here. The drinks are absolutely wonderful but the food I can't say enough about this food. This is like eating your grandma's cooking. This is amazing in the portions, which are amazingly large. It's definitely a must visit once, but you're going to want to keep going and going. Actually I will be there again this weekend

Should not have to be told by waitress what she wants for a tip....very humiliated in front of myself husband and son for his bday.......I was a waitress u di not ywlk customers the bill is wrong cause u want more money for a tiip....never go back again shame on them 138 for bill 20 tip was what we could do we are on a fixed income
