I’ve been dying to get my Cuban food fix! Finally got to go for lunch, and I have got to say: The smell of fresh baked bread when you walk in is intoxicating. All of your Puerto Rican and Cuban favourites are here. I got a roast pork sandwich, but the plates going by with chuletas, mofongo, pernil, guisados, yuca, salads, were all freshly prepared. I wanted to try everything each plate looked better than the next. At the counter, pastels and empanadas and desserts were on display to further tempt you. I got a soursop shake, which was an icy drink made with soursop and condensed milk. It was deliciously frosty and sweet (and soursop is good for you too!) I ordered the lechon sandwich which was packed with perfectly roasted juicy pork and I got a side of fries (which could feed 3 people!) my friend got the burger and a mango drink with yuca fries. The burger was fresh ground and hand packed, the yuca fries were crunchy and light. We both got Cuban coffees which were delicious too. Suddenly we weren’t sitting in a cold rainy restaurant, we were basking in the sun in Calle Ocho.☺️ Oh- The service was super friendly and attentive, you can tell they take pride in the food they make, and making their guests feel like family. This is going to be my new go to. Give it a try!
I recently had an amazing dining experience at Mima's Cuban Cafe in Rockland, Massachusetts, and I can't stop talking about it! From the second I walked in, I was struck by the warm and inviting atmosphere. The staff greeted me with genuine smiles and friendly hellos, making me feel like I was visiting an old friend rather than just another restaurant. It’s those little touches that really lift a dining experience to a whole new level! When I looked at the menu, I was blown away by the variety of options—each one more mouthwatering than the last. The flavors of Cuban cuisine were truly alive here, with authentic spices inviting you to explore. But one dish instantly grabbed my attention: the Traditional Cuban sandwich. Oh my goodness, it’s more than just a sandwich; it’s a flavorful masterpiece! It features mouth-watering braised family pork, Swiss cheese, dill pickles, and mustard, all perfectly pressed between slices of pan Cubano. Every bite was a delightful explosion of flavor that had my taste buds dancing with joy! And let me tell you, that sandwich was just the beginning! I also got to try the empanadas, which were absolutely spectacular. The flaky crust was so light and crispy, and the savory fillings were bursting with incredible flavors. Each bite revealed new layers of deliciousness, leaving me completely hooked. But the highlight of my meal? The Mima'z Monte Cristo! It’s a fantastic twist on a classic that I can’t recommend highly enough; it truly left a lasting impression on me. What really sets Mima's Cuban Cafe apart is their steadfast commitment to freshness. You can tell this isn't one of those fast-food joints where everything is prepped in bulk. Every dish is made fresh to order, ensuring that what you’re eating is top-notch and prepared with love. The passion they put into their food shines through in every single bite—something that’s hard to come by in today’s fast-paced world! If you’re on the hunt for incredible Hispanic cuisine, I wholeheartedly encourage you to check out Mima's Cuban Cafe. It feels like you’re experiencing a little slice of Miami right here in New England! They’ve been serving up deliciousness for over a year now, and their presence is a true blessing for Rockland and the surrounding towns. The warm atmosphere, diverse and delicious menu, and a staff that genuinely cares about your experience made my visit unforgettable. I’m already looking forward to my next trip to discover even more of their delights. You absolutely have to treat yourself and visit soon—you won’t regret it! And can we talk about their incredible selection of authentic Cuban, Dominican, and Puerto Rican juices? They offer an impressive array, including mango, papaya, guanabana (soursop), pineapple, passion fruit, and mixed berry. If you’re feeling adventurous, you can even go for a combination of all these fantastic flavors—what a vibrant and refreshing way to elevate your meal! Oh, and I can’t forget about dessert! The Flan at Mima's is a must-try; it's this rich and creamy Spanish custard that’s simply divine. The silky texture paired with the caramel topping makes for a perfect ending to any meal. And then there’s the Tres Leches Yellow Cake! This moist sponge cake soaked in a luscious mix of three types of milk, topped with a fluffy layer of whipped cream, is just heavenly. Each bite melts in your mouth and delivers the perfect sweet, rich finale to your dining experience. So trust me, save room for these delightful desserts—they're the cherry on top of an already incredible meal! If you're planning to enjoy the delicious offerings at Mima's Cuban Cafe, I highly recommend that you avoid ordering through GrubHub or Uber Eats. Instead, give them a call! Not only do they offer free delivery, but their prices are also lower than what you’d find on those delivery platforms. By calling directly, you can ensure you're getting the best deal and experiencing all the warmth and hospitality that comes with dining at Mima’s. Enjoy your meal!

I had their Cuban sandwich and the ropa vieja, and they were both delicious.
I’d been wanting to try this place for so long after my friend raved about it and I saw the Google reviews. Finally went today. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted with a hello and a big smile, and the service was just as warm and friendly for the rest of our visit—and everyone there is so attentive! The food was out of this world, too… drinks, app, meals and desserts all excellent, in particular the ropa vieja, cilantro rice, fried sweet plantains, and the media noche. We had such a hard time deciding what to order, and plan to go back again and again to try everything we couldn’t in one sitting. We are thrilled to have found it, and only regret we didn’t try it sooner!

I’ve been here several times including twice in the past week and I am happy every time I choose this restaurant. The food tastes delicious and is made in a scratch kitchen that tastes like your getting the highest quality home cooking. I’ve had sandwiches, plates, empanadas and desserts and I have been thrilled with every item!
