Canned cranberry sauce, wtf. No where does it say Cash only until you get the bill and look like a fool. I won't be back. No ADA ramp either.

The atmosphere alone makes "the diner" as I knew it growing up worth a visit. There are plenty of good items on the menu, I recommend the chicken pot pie and a slice of chocolate cream pie.

We love this diner. It’s the classic Massachusetts diner experience — great service, comfort food, tight cozy spaces, solid coffee, and prices that won’t hurt your wallet.
The menu is massive, offering all-day breakfast, sandwiches, diner plates, and don’t forget about the pies (seriously, the pies are a must!). The place is small, so be prepared to wait on weekends, but it’s totally worth it. Portions are huge, so you’ll definitely leave full. The food is solid, though I’d recommend sticking to the regular menu instead of the specials. I tried the fried chicken platter from the specials, and it was a bit bland. The mac & cheese was excellent.
Oh, and heads up — it’s cash only! But there’s an ATM right next door.

Seafood platter was amazing and the chocolate cream pie
This might be a casual spot for locals, but as travelers from Europe, it felt like a truly authentic American experience. The interior has that classic American diner vibe, filled with casual, local customers.
We ordered the vegetarian omelette with white toast, blueberry pancakes with maple syrup, and bottomless coffee. While the omelette wasn’t particularly impressive—the veggies inside were a bit undercooked—the toast was fantastic, especially with the butter that came with it. The blueberry pancakes were the highlight, perfectly balanced in sweetness and complemented by the maple syrup.
The menu is quite meat-heavy, so it might not be the best choice for vegetarians or vegans.
Lastly, our server was amazing. She didn’t take any notes while we ordered, yet brought everything out perfectly. We’re still in awe—truly a professional!

Great place to eat but getting a table can be a challenge since people seem to try to get in a line ahead of you even if they got there after you

Totally caught off guard by "cash only", especially not highlighted on their website! Poor posting inside as well. Bad time to find out when it's time to pay the bill. We would have ordered differently had we known. Low end diner food being instant mashed potatoes and learned the cutlet was frozen! No reason to go back here. Had to leave a minimal tip which we said we didn't know about the cash only policy.
We felt we received an attitude by the silence. So be it...

Kid-friendliness: Me and my younger sister went and ended up having a great time. I love the food and it brought me back to when I was younger. It gave me a lot of nostalgia since my grandfather used to bring me whenever I visited.

Small, cute interior, but kind of rundown and too many tchokes. Heads up: Only takes cash. Friendly and energetic waitresses help the enjoyment of the place, which intends to be nostalgic but just feels messy. Prices are fair. Fried chicken (dark meat) a disappointment: bland crust and dry meat, at least not greasy. Large bland fries from frozen--would have asked to "burn them". Good flavor in the crunchy homemade cole slaw, not too sweet and not oily. Very good coconut cream pie, though the crust was chewy, not flaky.
