I made a reservation for 5 to celebrate a 75th birthday. We arrived about 15m early, so it was totally understandable that they didn’t have a table ready for us, but I got kind of a weird look from the hostess like we were crazy for being there so early. We stood around the bar area and chatted. It’s a very, very loud and lively place with some very young staff at the bar and host stand.
After 15m I checked in again with the hostess and she assured me it would be 5 minutes and mentioned a table number, 20-something iirc, which looked like a nice round one on her chart. I kept an eye on the round tables in the main area and watched as two were cleaned off and set up with chairs. They seated a group of 4 at one, so I checked back again. The hostess looked flustered, and sent her colleague to go check again…. It was now more than 15m after our reserved time. Finally, a hostess came to seat us, but it was at a tiny rectangular table in an awkward spot behind a register. We barely fit, and had issues with drinks spilling on us as the server tried to maneuver in the tight space. When I looked over at that nice round table I thought would be ours, there was a group of about 6 teenagers there. Friends of the hostess, perhaps? I know they were not waiting for a table ahead of us…
The food is pretty good. It’s a shame this place is being run by kids who are disrespectful to elders and giving favorable treatment to other kids.

Made a reservation for five and after over 45 min wait after the reservation time (we even showed up early!) we were sat at a table for four with a chair stuck at one end. We were given a real penalty box table typically reserved for folks who don't make a reservation and it was located at the bottom of the stairs to the bar and next to a staff station. A member of our party had to duck repeatedly to avoid trays of dinners buzzing overhead and the space clearly wasn't designed for this. It also was clear that the Gen Z kids running the front had made arrangements for a large group of their own friends who took priority over all the other guests as the three of them roamed the restaurant looking for chairs to accommodate their buds. Maybe an adult should work the front?
As drinks arrived the server spilled a beer all over our table and dropped a pile of napkins so we could clean up after their mistake. With barely enough room for our dinners (table for four), we struggled to enjoy the middle of the road Pilot House menu offerings.
If you're considering this over the Fisherman's View I'd recommend that you don't give this place a chance. At least don't go on a weekend when they have proper tables available that aren't a safety hazard for both staff and guests. First and last visit to the Pilot House.

Not a fan. Ordered a Caesar salad with grilled chicken. ($27.00). Yes, I said $27.00. the chicken tenders were cold, had the fake grill Mark's on them . I'll assume they're frozen. They were dry. Couldn't taste the dressing so asked for more. The bartenders were great. The food..... Not so much. The worst ceaser salad I've had in my life. And $27.00 to boot!! The restaurant is nice. You have 2 choices for views. The water or the ugly power plant. Won't go back.
