Walked in with my wife and looking around it just seemed too dirty and run down to eat there. Floor dirty with broken tiles, woodwork all chipped up...c'mon people. Show your customers you have some respect and clean the place up!!

Tried this spot recently and was pleasantly surprised by the entire spread. We went in hungry and left satisfied after enjoying ribs, French onion soup, BBQ hot wings with house-made sauce, chicken fingers, and a cheeseburger.
The ribs were fall-off-the-bone tender with a smoky finish. French onion soup delivered deep, comforting flavor that made it hard to share. The wings weren’t super spicy, but they had an incredible balance—rich, tangy, and packed with personality. Chicken fingers were crisp without being greasy, and the cheeseburger? Juicy, well-seasoned, and totally satisfying.
The standout? Those wings. If heat is your top priority, they’re mellow—but if you’re after flavor, they might just be your new favorite. Great food, relaxed vibe, and a kitchen that clearly cares about the details. Will be back!

Drinks and service were very good. Food left a lot to be desired. $10 stuffie was only marginally bigger than a little neck but tasted ok. The seafood bisque had the consistency of yogurt and the sherry was not cooked off. Would recommend for drinks, but the food needs a revamp.

The Tavern has become one of our local favorites where we often bring our guests. Try the brussels sprouts appetizer! Food is very good along with excellent service.

The atmosphere saved it from 1 star. Went in a few weeks ago. Upon first impression it seemed nice. Hostess was great but then we were seated. Dining room wasn't very busy at all and we (2 of us) got seated right in the middle and next too this extremely loud party of like 15. Why we weren't spread out with plenty of tables enpty is beyond me. Waitress didn't really seem to care about her job and made zero attempt to recommend anything. Nothing on the menu impressed me. Watched some food coming out and it didn't look very appealing. 20$ for a burger in a nice place i atleast expect it served on a plate and not some checked paper like i was at Gillette. The fact that they have a "short rib French onion soup" is what finally convinced me to just order a pizza and head home. Unwritten rule is you don't screw with the classics. All and all I just got the impression that it was no more then an attempt at an upscale pub with a dive bar menu. Atleast have a signature dish. Might be back for a beer or two but that's it

The one star was for the waitress, she was lovely..
I chose the local because it was close to the cemetary, easy for us all to get to
The manager and owner were absolutely disrespectful and called me a liar when I called to let them know the food wasn't up to any standard. I booked a 'room' (it was an open part of the restaurant. I booked lunch for my family for after my brother's funeral and burial. The wine and drinks were good, the nachos good, and the fries. The lunch entrees were really awful, barely edible. My aunts, nephew, his gf, cousins, parents, daughter and her spouse were unhappy with our meals. A few days later I spoke to the manager and assured me the owner would call me back. She didn't. I called her almost 2 weeks later. She implied that she'd spoken with me and said everything was wonderful. I had never spoken to the owner, Jaquelin. Who wants to return 10 dinners the day of a very sad funeral? We were all grieving. We wanted to gather as a family to be comforted by a good meal and time together. I hoped she'd be kind and offer some compensation which I'd planned to refuse and a promise that she'd take care of it in the future.
She was rude and acted like I was trying to get free meals, disgusting. This owner is a disgrace to the restaurant business. I'll never go there again unless ownership changes. The BBC was good, the local is awful.
In my 63 years, I've never had such a bad experience with a restaurant. I'm also a business owner. I know all about scams by clients that have buyers remorse. The owner didn't even attempt to discover if this was a scam, she just assumed that I wanted part of my $900 back.
On a tragic and heartbreaking day, this is the service you will receive at the local.
No frills restaurant but the food was delicious 👍
