The atmosphere saved it from 1 star. Went in a few weeks ago. Upon first impression it seemed nice. Hostess was great but then we were seated. Dining room wasn't very busy at all and we (2 of us) got seated right in the middle and next too this extremely loud party of like 15. Why we weren't spread out with plenty of tables enpty is beyond me. Waitress didn't really seem to care about her job and made zero attempt to recommend anything. Nothing on the menu impressed me. Watched some food coming out and it didn't look very appealing. 20$ for a burger in a nice place i atleast expect it served on a plate and not some checked paper like i was at Gillette. The fact that they have a "short rib French onion soup" is what finally convinced me to just order a pizza and head home. Unwritten rule is you don't screw with the classics. All and all I just got the impression that it was no more then an attempt at an upscale pub with a dive bar menu. Atleast have a signature dish. Might be back for a beer or two but that's it

Grieving Family

The one star was for the waitress, she was lovely..

I chose the local because it was close to the cemetary, easy for us all to get to

The manager and owner were absolutely disrespectful and called me a liar when I called to let them know the food wasn't up to any standard. I booked a 'room' (it was an open part of the restaurant. I booked lunch for my family for after my brother's funeral and burial. The wine and drinks were good, the nachos good, and the fries. The lunch entrees were really awful, barely edible. My aunts, nephew, his gf, cousins, parents, daughter and her spouse were unhappy with our meals. A few days later I spoke to the manager and assured me the owner would call me back. She didn't. I called her almost 2 weeks later. She implied that she'd spoken with me and said everything was wonderful. I had never spoken to the owner, Jaquelin. Who wants to return 10 dinners the day of a very sad funeral? We were all grieving. We wanted to gather as a family to be comforted by a good meal and time together. I hoped she'd be kind and offer some compensation which I'd planned to refuse and a promise that she'd take care of it in the future.

She was rude and acted like I was trying to get free meals, disgusting. This owner is a disgrace to the restaurant business. I'll never go there again unless ownership changes. The BBC was good, the local is awful.

In my 63 years, I've never had such a bad experience with a restaurant. I'm also a business owner. I know all about scams by clients that have buyers remorse. The owner didn't even attempt to discover if this was a scam, she just assumed that I wanted part of my $900 back.

On a tragic and heartbreaking day, this is the service you will receive at the local.

Cozy spot to grab a bite and some drinks. Service was great at the bar. Drinks are made well and not over priced which is amazing these days. The sandwich I got was good, but the fries were even better! 👍🏼I like the atmosphere and would come back when in the area for sure. Good selection on the menu and rotating specialty drink menu is fun.

Chris, our server was awesome. Drinks came out quick as did our appetizers and our main course. Chris answered all questions about the food as we had never been in before. We’re not sure what to order vast menu with many different options for many different pallets. I had the chicken chicken sandwich and my girlfriend hadthe ribeye sandwich. Both were excellent. We also had the steak and cheese eggrolls and the pork dumplings. everything was spot on. We will be back when we’re in the area. Thank you for a great meal.

Reminds me of an old captains house made into a restaurant. Mightve been at some point. Lots of history here! Used to be the BBC. The service was ok. The food...not even close to being ok. The Buffalo chicken dip was piping hot on the top and close to ice cold in the middle and on the bottom. Not good. We cldnt wait to try the Buttermilk chicken sandwich and we were extremely disappointed. No Buttermilk flavor, no spices, no salt, no nothing. It dripped with oil and the breading was so thick we couldn't eat it. They also use chicken thighs and we spent a few mins trying to find it. Now, with that being said, I don't exaggerate my reviews by any means. I very honest. I'm sorry if some ppl don't agree but no, we literally left 3/4 of our food on the plate and took nothing home. The fries were awesome but we were very bummed. I wont be going back.

This is our go to for dine in and takeout! Food is always right and always delicious! Smart packaging of food and dressings to ensure food arrives home intact. They really take pride in their food and service! Our favorites; steak tips, Mac n cheese, chili, chicken tenders, pizza, and the wintergreen salad is so good! We will be back soon! Thank you! 🙏🏻

Fantastic customer service for take out!! Restaurant called to confirm ingredients related to an allergy - so appreciated. <3 The Bacon & Brussel Sprout Pizza is literally the best pizza I've ever had. It was absolutely decadent. Delicious all around.

Thank goodness the parking lot is bigger than it looked. This place was super busy for an off-season Saturday night. There are at least 4 different rooms, plus outside seating when weather allows. There are TVs and an old tavern feel to this place. The first appearance is that it's someone house. The host was polite and wait staff had us in/out in about 1 hour (including an app). The steak & cheese was a favorite. The onion rings were bland and the shepard's pie was greasy. The giant pretzel was delicious as well as a side of butternut squash. We did not sample any desserts.

Dietary restrictions: Our waitress checked each item to see if it would be safe for me and my fish allergy. Fried foods are in the same oil.

Parking: Keep going all the way back, there's more than what it looks like from the street.

Kid-friendliness: Plenty of families, including several large parties of 6 or more guests.
