Yesterday after a very long day and week I decided to stop at the Route 1 Grill as I always went to the Clubhouse Cafe and never a bad meal. HOWEVER upon takeing a seat at the bar as I was alone and usually do The Bartender ignored me twice and then rudely told me that the 4 empty seats at the bar were reserved ....NO SIGNAGE was ever in place just 4 INVITING DISHES with Silverware they refused to serve me and wanted me to move to a table till something opened up... not good. No manager was on duty to resolve the issue and again the bartender did not even attempt to at lease get me a beverage and try to resolve other then ignore....SAVE YOUR MONEY AND TIME ...Most of the staff were just standing around was not wasting my time on a minor spot like this don't waste yours !!!

Good food, prices are a bit high and tables need to be cleaner. Lots of space and you wont feel overwhelmed with people so close to you. Bathrooms are also in need of better cleaning and smell.

I stopped by Route 1 Grill House in Saugus for their $0.50 wing night on Monday, and I was seriously impressed! The place was packed, but the energy was electric and the staff handled the crowd like pros.

Shona, my waitress, and the hostess both did a phenomenal job — friendly, fast, and professional despite the rush. If I owned a restaurant or ran a hospitality business, I’d hire both in a heartbeat. You could feel their focus and hustle, and it made the whole experience that much better.

Now, let’s talk food — the wings were excellent! Crispy, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. I also tried the chicken parm, which was hearty, cheesy, and delicious. And to top it all off, the ice cream cookie sandwich was the perfect sweet ending — a nostalgic treat done right.

Definitely worth a visit — especially on wing night. Can’t wait to come back!

Steak was very salty and over cooked. Their saving grace was the onion strings. Not very impressed, however, it was ok.

The hilltop burger was incredible. Amazing. Taste the corn on the cob, juicy and buttery and then the ribs were so juicy tender and incredible. I definitely recommend going here.

Stopped by for Father’s Day brunch. It’s a half step up from Texas Road house, in my honest and humble opinion.

We were greeted & seated within 30 seconds of arrival & with no reservation. The menu had lots of different options for both food and drinks! Spacious and lots of seating. Grace, our server was friendly and attentive without being overbearing or gone for long periods of time.

We chose the appetizer sample where’s it’s supposed to have a little bit of everything. For $16.95 it was underwhelming. Chicken was dry & no flavor. The cheesesteak rolls were nothing crazy. And the chicken tenders were meh. Mozzarella sticks tasted like they’ve been sitting there.

I got the surf & turf with the scallops. Ordered my tips medium well & they were cooked to perfection. Scallops were also delicious. I had 2 sides to choose, which I did. I went with the Mac ‘n’ cheese & raviolis in a red tomato sauce. Mac ‘n’ cheese was alright. Nothing special there. Kind was hoping for a baked Mac with the crispy top. Raviolis were good.

My husband got the rib eye. He says it was good and definitely better than some places. He had the mashed potatoes and Caesar salad. He also ordered a Mai tai but nothing special there either.

All in all, we spent about $130 & to be honest I don’t really think some of it was worth that prices however I understand the cost of doing business — especially in the restaurants. I don’t think I’ll be rushing back but maybe some time in the future.
