A hidden gem off of Route 2. Very affordable but be aware they’re cash only. All of the common diner options but very well done. Biscuits and Gravy were very good. Corned beef hash was excellent. Kids had Mickey Mouse pancakes and banana pancakes. Very fluffy buttermilk recipe. Coffee was strong and hot. Overall excellent.

I go all over this wonderful country of ours. Every now and then I’m fortunate enough to come upon a real gem. This diner more than fit the bill. The staff was wonderful, food was delicious and the locals were more than willing to fill our ears with local stories and folk lore. 100% recommend stopping by!

We never got a chance to try the food but I would not recommend this place. The building looked pretty run down with over grown weeds and peeling paint. The reviews were good so we tried. We walked in and found an empty booth. We sat at the dirty sticky table for more than 10 minutes without menus. The wait wasnt a big deal except i felt like it was disrespectful for the waitress to continue a long conversation with another customer before just a table wipe. It’s also clearly meant for a certain crowd: Fox news was blaring and there was an old man loudly voicing his opinion on politics. I wouldnt have been upset if they were busy but they didnt seem to be. It was also a monday afternoon after lunch time.

The building is a little run down but it's interior is comfortable and well maintained buy an oax of a man named Bob. Bod will be there EVERY SINGLE DAY making sure to open right at 6am to then make you a truly impressive home cooked meal.
Be a nice friendly face to the wait staff and other customers and you'll quickly find yourself a home away from home in a welcoming community.
Also, amazingly good prices for the food quality.
There is literally only one cook (Bob the oax and owner) so don't except fast food, expect good food made as quickly as possible.
Can't rush perfection.
Kathy (Bobs daughter) loves to chat
Veronica will get you thinking about the meaning of life (in a good way)
And Pokil (Bob's wife) will always make sure your coffee is full and will make you laugh with her unique sense of humor.

I found this place based on a recommendation from a friend who loves old school diner café's.While the outside left me wondering, "is this real or a dream?", the inside had me feeling comfortable and relaxed. Like I had entered a place long forgotten but still existing in a parallel dimension. The service was great. Kathy and Veronica are awesome. The chef/owner is really something, too. The place has the feeling of love and care.Food ordering is easy. You can customize your dishes easily. I had a blueberry pancake and a corned beef hash omelette w cheese. Mmm! That hit the spot! And the hash browns were excellent as well.I will definitely return again and again.

This is your dad's diner, a secret spot, and a time warp all in one. Plus a dash of Cheers, because by your second time visiting everyone knows your name and they're always glad you came. The omelette menu is full of great surprises too. Shirley Airport Diner is a special find with special people.

They only took cash. I only had my atm/debut card not cash. So I didn't go in and eat anything.
Food was good, waitress was awesome and the prices are more than affordable. I'd definitely go back.
Kid-friendliness: Nice plays to bring kids, noise is not a problem and you get to show them the old diner.

Quaint little place on the side of the road. Food was good. New omelet options like my hamburger w/ onion, tomato, & pickle. Cinn bun was good but could have been warmer.
