Very cute little restaurant! Family like treatment. Everything we had was amazing. The older gentleman who is probably the chef was so kind and nice. We were visiting from NYC and were very happy we picked this place!

Our experience at Metro was a mixed bag. We arrived for our reservation and were sat promptly, but as there was a much larger reservation in the other room service was very slow and lacking.

After being served water and some bread, we were left sitting with the menus for 40 minutes before our waitress came over. She was interrupted mid speech by the owner/manager and called away from the table to the larger group. We waited another 10 minutes for her to come back (not her fault, she was young and being pulled in every direction).

I understand that this place is meant to replicate the slower pace of the French Bistrot, however, as someone who has sat in many such restaurants in France, I’ve never waited that long to have an order taken.

The food, for its part, was very good. Simple ingredients, well prepared. They did give us a complimentary sausage plate, I assume to make up for the wait. We also got a “patience is a virtue” sort of comment from the owner/manager which we thought was strange as we did not complain while we were there.

To boot, the larger group cheered as we left and said “and don’t come back”. Now, I don’t know if this group is reflective of the normal clientele, but it definitely left a weird impression.

Overall, I recommend checking in when you reserve a table if there are any events going on. I imagine the experience is better when they don’t have a group of 20+ to wait on. I would only return if I could be sure we wouldn’t be clear afterthoughts.

One of southbridges truly hidden gems ! The food, atmosphere and service is in French fashion and passion. A meal you will never regret or forget ! A must try for first timers and return patrons for the culinary arts.

One of the best restaurants in this area. The food is delicious, as elegant and well presented as any restaurant in Paris. Some of the freshest seasonal and foraged ingredients I have ever enjoyed. I especially recommend the escargot and quiche, as well as the cheese and dessert choices. We hope to return very soon, this is a very special and unique French restaurant with an amazing menu.

My husband and I were in Southbridge for the first time and were delighted with our visit. The food, service and atmosphere were absolutely wonderful and the owners just lovely people, all of which made our evening a memorable one. We definitely plan to return on our next trip to the area!

It's a lovely French restaurant with a chef who clearly knows how to cook and present French food. I don't know a thing about French food; however, I was with a friend who had lived in Paris at one time so she was able to educate me to the different styles of food. We had the 6 course tasting meal, which was more expensive than it was worth (I was hoping more than chicken for the main meal); yet the food was remarkably flavorful. I'd visit again for a special occasion, as it was expensive and w/o wine. Still, it was worth the visit!

If there's anything Chef Jay knows more than cooking, is his ability to promote his legacy and experience.

Their food is decent for the area.

It's the perfect crux of simple quality ingredients & methods, combined with pretentious branding.

Ultimately, they are restricted by their limited resources in the kitchen, and lacking creativity in their plat d'accompagnement.

Lovely!! We had wonderful food, a quiet intimate conversation, and enjoyed some music that the chef selected; tonight he was playing CDs from his collection and every once in a while he would pop into the dining room to swap disks. Metro Bistrot is so charming and clearly built around passion and appreciation.

My wife and I came to one of our favorite places and go to celebration venue for dinner after getting married today. Once again, the food was absolutely amazing with a perfect pairing of dishes that make your mouth drool for every bite. Jay the owner, cook, wine maker and much more makes you feel like he's known you for years on the first introduction, and his wife is amazing as well, whom delights patrons with a magnificent song ! All of that in a quaint easy to find location. Highly suggest checking this place out!
