I enjoyed the speedy service of drinks. But the provision of music was week. The DJ (DJ Sincero) is obviously an amateur. Literally through the peek hours of a filled dance floor he did not play merengue music. From reggaeton to long over played Hector Lavoe salsa song to a bachata song then back to reggaeton. I think it's common knowledge that merengue is the most common and fun of all Latin dance music and he neglected to show any thought of providing that to the crowd. Merengue music is the connection that allows the connection of people who are unknown to eachother to feel a balance and comfortability to then dance salsa or bachata with eachother. So unfortunately because of his lack of ability to mix such music I gave a poor rating. I hope that I am able to come back and revisit and enjoy a better mix of music.

I was invited here by a local which knew exactly the kind of ambiance I was looking for on a Saturday night. This is not your club for VIP guests or high end clientele BUT the music is FIRE! If you are the kind of person that simply likes good music and ambiance this is the spot. Nothing about this club was fancy, even most of the people were in sneakers and flip flops so you know they are only there to have a good time, which I adore. The spot is CASH ONLY. A table with a bottle of Henny and 4 ppl was about $400. I would definitely be back when I'm in town.

*NOTE: THIS IS NO LONGER CHAMPIONS* This place is now just the Tower Square Hotel bar... or something generic like that. That is because the hotel, the Tower Square Hotel, is no longer a Marriott, and Champions is a Marriott company. (Who knew??) That being said, this place was just fine with me the other night. The manager worked really hard to try and find my football game (Seahawks v. Raiders) and she couldn't; she tried for like twenty minutes. She and the bartender let me sample beers, and the wings were good. The nachos were okay. I think the most challenging thing with this place is the fact that it is no longer a Champions. It's also tucked inside this downtown Tower Square building thing which may or may not be in the process of succumbing to Springfield's new MGM casino down the street. It seems like the identity has been lost-- probably because it has. Still, I had a good time there and I will plan on going back. If you're in Springfield, why not give it a shot?

Keep trying this place as the food was always decent even though the service is the worst in the city. Slow and non-attentive. When you have a group in during lunch the restaurant should have a waitress and know you only have 1 hour. This place has no wait staff. There is 1 bus boy who runs around doing the best he can. Not to mention they do not split the check. Today's meal (tenders and fries) was not even cooked thru. Chicken was slight pink inside and fries were not even cooked fully. The managers could not even figure out how to run the cards used at time of paying. Prices have also been increased in recent months. Do not go here, plenty other places with-in walking distance.
