I ordered from Pete’s Daily Food on my third day living in Springfield, and it became part of a really special memory. I got the oxtails for myself, curry chicken for one friend, jerk chicken for another, and we all shared rice and peas with gravy and sweet plantains. We were all dealing with housing struggles at the time, but that meal brought us together. We sat outside under a tree with pink blossoms near one of McKnight’s beautiful Victorian houses, sharing food and conversation.

Everything was delicious—spicy, juicy, and incredibly satisfying. The portions were large and filling, easily enough for two people per dish. The oxtails were especially rich and tender, and the rice and peas with gravy were thick, saucy, and full of deep flavor. My mouth still waters when I think about it.

The delivery was fast, the food arrived hot, and the prices were very reasonable for such generous portions. Ordering was easy, they were flexible over the phone, and when I later stopped in, the atmosphere felt warm and welcoming.

If you’re in Springfield and want authentic, hearty Jamaican food, this is absolutely a place to try—especially the oxtails.

I went to this Jamaican spot last weekend with a couple friends and honestly, it was a nice surprise. The place had a chill vibe and the food came out fresh and hot. I tried the jerk chicken with rice and peas, and it had that perfect smoky flavor without being too spicy. The staff was friendly, maybe a bit slow with refills but nothing major. Prices were fair for the portion size too. Overall, I’d say it’s worth checking out if you’re craving some good island food.

Great Jamaican and American food! Been going there for years. Small seating area, good for pickup and to go.

I just found this place not too long ago and now I try to stop by during my lunch breaks. Pete always hooks it up with extra portions even when he doesn’t have to. Today he gave me extra curry goat and it honestly made my whole day. Definitely recommend this spot!

This is my second visit to this establishment. The proprietor was kind and even made me some ginger tea when I revealed my stomach was achy. Now...the curry chicken is tasty and so are the beef patties. Typical Jamaican cuisine that did not disappoint on flavor. Thank you Pete!

I visited this place a few weeks ago. I liked the cuisine, loyal prices and pleasant service. I would like to change the interior a bit. But I would definitely recommend this place to visit.

Had curry goat, with rice and beans and a side of coco bread and plantains. Had some of their homemade Sorrell. Honestly one of the best meals I've ever had. One of those meals where you just want to eat it slow to savor the taste. Never had sorrell before and it's become one of my favorite drinks now. Highly recommend Pete's.

A taste of country cooking from home in downtown Springfield, Mass. The jerk chicken was jus’ like at home an’ the curry goat was delicious. Next time, mus’ mek sure we go at the beginning of the month. Some items was finish. Run out.

The stewed chicken was fall off the bone tender and served with a hafty portion of rice and beans. It was delicious. 10/10 would eat again. They do have vegetarian dishes (my food came with a side dish of rasta cultural education, where I was reminded that rastaferians are mostly vegan, and a lot of people for that matter are vegetarian ❤️)

Excellent food, service and portions. We had the beef patties, snapper, brown stew chicken with rice ? and peas and curry goat with rice ? and peas. I was told I can get fried fish ? every Friday. I will continue to patronize this small business. Thanks.

Went last week, Wednesday, about 4 PM.Empty restaurant, girl behind glass looking annoyed with us, and ignoring us, empty displays. When asked for daily soups or dinners, "no soup, no dinner".Turns away. What a rude welcome and no food? One sad plantain and burnt chicken in the display? No thanks.
