Nice walking into the new Mamou restaurant. Good vibes . I first ordered The Bourbon Street cheese bread and a gumbo soup. The gumbo soup was not as good as before, but I would rate it at 4 out of 5. I was disappointed with the bourbon street bread. The ingredients on the bread was good, but the bread ruined It. The bread before was much better. The one I experienced tasted like cheap bread that fell apart. Next, I had the red beans and rice and it was delicious! The flavors hit the spot. Next up was a Po’ boys, blackened shrimp. The blacked shrimp wasn’t as crispy and blackened as i remember and again something about the bread. I’m sure it is the same bread as the bourbon st bread. It tasted cheap and fell apart. The Arnold Palmer was very delicious. I would highly recommend to get back a couple of the old cooks and change up the bread.
Great location and much luck!

I have been to this restaurant before and had good experience. Yesterday was terrible. An hour and a half for my party to be served steak and cheese sandwiches, the meat was very hard and dried out. The bread was crumbly and the salad arrived after the sandwiches were half eaten. Lettuce and tomato never appeared on my fried oyster po boy. Not that crowded so no excuse. I don’t know what music was playing but it did not remotely reflect Cajun or Louisiana. We will not be back.

Springfield at its best! I’m so happy that The Mamou is back! Everything that made the original famous is back in a beautiful space. As good as the food is, it’s Tracy, the original ‘killer waitress’, who brings the vibe that makes the atmosphere special! Whatever they’re paying her…it’s not enough! I will be back again soon.

I came to The Mamou last Friday evening for the first time. I had heard about it for years. It was shockingly good. I knew tge previous owner died and was concerned it wouldn't be as good but it was fantastic. Not a big menu but I got the crab stuffed catfish over rice with shrimp and lobster sauce. Not only was it perfectly seasoned and delicious, but the presentation was on point. It was more than enough food for me. Reasonable 27.00 for what you got. My only complaint was the long wait times to get your food. But the server was excellent, she was attentive and pleasant. I was able to park out front which was a few steps away from tge entrance. All in all it comes highly recommended. You won't be disappointed.

First time trying this restaurant while on a short visit.
Atmosphere was great and matched the theme of the restaurant.
Was disappointed in the meal. Tried the monster burger. Presentation was good and on point but flavor failed. Took first bite and it seemed as the cook forgot the seasoning and spicy mayo. Literally no taste to give 5 stars. Asked the waitress for spicy mayo. She thought they may have put a llittle. I didnt see any. Either way would definitely not order this again.
Wanted to take the crawfish etoufeet go but didnt want to take the chance of paying more on the bill and being dissatisfied later when I ate it.
The service was terrific and prompt.
Hard to believe the Monster Burger didnt live up to its name.

This was my first time eating here. I just came across the restaurant bc I was craving Red Beans and Rice, Cajun Style. I’m so happy I chose to try it. Upon entry, I was greeted with a smile by Luna. She was also our server. She was very funny and friendly. She explained the menu, and answered all the questions we had. We ordered a little bit of almost everything, and while eating, still planned on what I was going to try next time we visited. Will definitely be back. The drinks were terrific! They have a full bar so they can make any drink you want that isn’t listed on the menu. The food was fresh, nice and hot, and so so tasty! The chef’s were accommodating to our allergies. Couldn’t even get to our desserts bc we were so full, but we took them to go! Will definitely be back for the Bananas Foster Pound Cake! Thank you all!

Not my first time here but was the first time at this location. The food was very good. For apettizer we had Creole mussels and they were out of this world. The sauce was so good wanted more. For entre I had the crawfish etoufee and it was delicious. Although not as spicy as I'm used to it was, never the less, excellent. I also add red beans and rice side which was very good. For dessert I had the Bananas Foster Bundt Cake and I was very pleased. The server brought the wrong dessert at first, brought bread pudding, which they also let me bring home at no charge. I ate it the next day and though different from what I am used to, it was very enjoyable. I will be back. I have been to New Orleans many times and the food at The Mamou was very authentic. I highly recommend it. The atmosphere was excellent, Christmas music was playing, and it was very comfortable and rekaxing.
