My brothers and I visited The Place 2 Be in the heart of Springfield on Sunday, September 8th, mid-afternoon for brunch, and it was an overall amazing experience! The atmosphere had a sleek, modern vibe with clean black and white interior decor that felt very 21st-century—minimalist yet chic. It gave the whole place a trendy, upscale feel while still being comfortable and welcoming.

The service was outstanding! Every waitress we encountered was friendly and attentive, making sure we were well taken care of. But I want to give special recognition to Cindy, who truly went above and beyond. She wasn’t our assigned waitress, but she constantly checked in to make sure our table had everything we needed. Her level of care and attention made such a positive impression—she’s definitely a huge asset to the restaurant.

The combination of great food, exceptional service, and the modern aesthetic makes The Place 2 Be a standout spot for brunch. Whether you're looking for a stylish place to relax or just want top-notch service, this is a must-visit. I’ll definitely be back for another meal!

I've visited this restaurant twice before with my family, but after today's experience, we won’t be coming back. The service was extremely slow, and the waiters seemed disorganized. Customers were leaving due to the lack of attention, which should have been a sign for us to leave, but we decided to give it a chance.
While waiting for our food and drinks, our water was warm and it took forever to get a refill. We ordered drinks that arrived only after our meal and had to remind the waiter. I decided to cancel mine, but my son still wanted his milkshake, which, despite looking good, was warm and didn’t taste right. He ended up not drinking the $10 milkshake. I don’t blame him.
Our food arrived in stages, which sometimes happens, but the delays were excessive. The food itself was bland with minimal flavor. One of my son's burgers was overcooked, the other son's salad was warm, and my husband's eggs tasted like water. None of us finished our meals, and at around $17 each, they were far from worth the price.
We won’t be coming back and wouldn’t recommend this place if you're in Springfield looking for a meal.

We ordered fried chicken and we got processed chicken nuggets from a freezer. Attaching photos so you can compare the items as advertised to what we received (southern bennies and Caesar salad). As you can pretty clearly see, the dishes were not even remotely close to the photos. The Caesar salad consisted of iceberg lettuce and squeeze bottle dressing on the side with Parmesan shavings and… you guessed it, chicken nuggets. Absolutely unacceptable; this is one of rare instances I’d have sent the food back if it weren’t so apparent that the poor waiters were already having a difficult enough time dealing with the kitchen. I understand if the kitchen might be having issues, but then it’s really easy to say “sorry we don’t have that” instead of charging customers $20 for something they can get in the freezer aisle. Avoid.

Parking: Lots of space available

Kid-friendliness: The staff has a high chair for the baby with us and kindly accommodated.

My husband and I came here for the first time initially thinking to have breakfast but ordered burgers for lunch instead. The server was very friendly and attentive. I had the honey lavender latte to drink since I was curious. Presentation was cute but lavender not my thing I guess. For lunch I had the Mac attack burger and my husband the BYO burger. We ate them since we were hungry but the meat was weird. Seemed like processed meat or almost meatball consistency. The Mac n cheese the cheese seemed like processed cheese as well. Fries were good but could have used salt. For $55 I was disappointed and wished we had gone somewhere else.

Arrived to restaurant at 11:04 am and the atmosphere was very fun. I had a party of 3 and there was one other table besides ours. The waitress informed us she didn’t have some alcohols (Kaluha annd something else) and the coffee machine was not working. It took a while to get our drinks, but the waitress wanted to make my friend’s birthday drink special. She put it on a tray and wrote Happy Birthday with chocolate sauce and sprinkles. We finally ordered our food and it was taking a while, 45 minutes to 1 hr or more maybe. The waitress informed us there was one line cook working in the back and she would go check on our food. The food came out and it was fantastic, but my friends and I only had a few bites and had to leave since it was close to 12:50 pm. We went on a Thursday afternoon and it took a lot longer than expected.

The food is just bad... The cheapest burger patties you can get, the cheapest "chicken" formed slurry concoction that tastes like whatever oil it's cooked in, fries taste old and mushy.
Napkins are the cheapest possible see through pieces of paper you can get (and you only get one). Floor is oddly slippery.
Took 10 minutes to get seated when the place was absolutely empty (8 customers in the whole place). It took 35 minutes to get our food from the time we ordered (again, empty place)
Not a staff member in sight for most of the meal... We had to walk to the bar to get our check since there was nobody around.

We arrived and it was empty…now I know why. It was SO dirty even at just opening at 8am, and it was 9:20. The fruity pebbles French toast didn’t come with promised toppings. The red white and blue waffles didn’t come with strawberries, the eggs Benedict were hard and the hollindaise was broken. It was gross! I never complain but this was really awful.

Stopped in on a whim Sunday morning after an event at the big e. Placed looked closed to start off. Servers barely greeted us from behind bar. No menus, only on phone. But the reason we left before ordering was how dirty the place was… sticky tables, entry way couch with stains on it, spilled drinks on floor, that was obviously never cleaned, trash cans in bathroom overflowing. It looked like a nightclub the morning after. Couldn’t imagine eating food in a place so grimy.

Upon first impression, the place was a little iffy. Starling, however, was the absolute best. He switched our experience around 100%. He was bright, helpful, attentive, and overall had a positive attitude. 10/10 for starling!

Stopped in for lunch after our visit to the basketball Hall of Fame. Our waitress was pleasant enough but really seemed to be just going through the motions.

Water was served in small drink glasses with stirring straws.

We ordered lunch and soft drinks. According to my wife, the lemonade tasted like water with lemon. I asked for a Pepsi with a wedge of lemon and my son asked for a Pepsi. The sodas were flat and warm despite the ice and served with ridiculously wide straws.

My wife's salad was mediocre at best. My sons steak and egg skillet the same, though he did enjoy the potatoes. My burger and fries was never put in. When the server brought out there food and asked what I ordered, I knew it was never placed. So I sat and watched them eat because I was not going to wait and eat when they were done. I told my waitress and she asked if I wanted it to go. Really? Of course I did NOT want it to go. She didn't even say sorry until I asked for the bill!!!

And the gall to present me with a screen where the first thing I see is how much tip do I want to leave!!!!!

Overpriced as my bill was $85!!! I was tempted to leave no tip but I left a little more than 10%.

Lousy end to a nice day trip. I for one will never set foot in another of their establishments.
