I grew up in this neighborhood, rode my bicycle by here in the 1970's . The aroma was heavenly. They would cool racks of bread out the back door, and kindly sell you a loaf if asked. I have been to every corner of this country and in my opinion, Tougias, and the long gone Lido , "under the restaurant", bakery, are, and were, by far the best Italian breads you will ever find.
