Tried again this week again after not eating their bread for years Not bad but not chewy and flavorful as it used to be. There were lots of air pockets No better than store bought bread Disappointing

I grew up in this neighborhood, rode my bicycle by here in the 1970's . The aroma was heavenly. They would cool racks of bread out the back door, and kindly sell you a loaf if asked. I have been to every corner of this country and in my opinion, Tougias, and the long gone Lido , "under the restaurant", bakery, are, and were, by far the best Italian breads you will ever find.
