Decided to try this place out but wanted to do take out because it was getting late. I called 3x times on a Saturday night and no one answered. I then decided to go there to place my take out order. The hostess quickly apologized and said she was training a new girl. The resturant itself wasnt busy at all. Its ashame they probably lost a lot of business that night. I placed my ordered and informed the hostess , I would like vegetables instead of fries or rice and I stated can you make sure they are steamed and not covered in oil or butter she said yes. She then read my order back to me and said sauté vegetables I then said no steamed. I should have known then I got home to vegetables soaked in oil. I prefer the vegetables because its a healthier option but not if its soaked in oil. I also got a Portuguese steak sandwich and was expecting it to be on a pop but no it comes on a sub roll very disappointing.

Food was very good...I had the steak with rice/round fries...steak was cooked perfect medium rare...the sauce was a little thin and salty...but I'm nitpicking....my girlfriend had the polvo (octopus stew)...she liked, but stated that stew had a burnt taste to it.....overall, very good, very busy and I would go again

The steak was delicious and the sauce was outstanding… the waitresses were all very nice and friendly… met the owner which is also the chef and she was also very nice and friendly and wanted to know if we had enjoyed the meal and obviously we did and told her that we would definitely be back… you can see that she was very proud and happy that we had enjoyed our meal… I would definitely recommend anyone looking for a bit of Portuguese cuisine cooked with a touch of pride go and visit this Cantinho dos Açores… Also, the expresso martini was excellent… they made feel like I was invited to their house for dinner… loved the whole experience…
