-3 fish N chips, and all said that their fish was dry N over cooked. -spaghetti was over cooked w/frozen meatballs. -chicken kbobs dinner were delicious N perfectly cooked. Been several times before. Huge amounts for the price N everything was FANTASTIC. Maybe just an off day, we all have had them, so can they. Will retry again in a week or so.

My husband and I went for dinner this week. The food was wonderful. It was served hot and FULL of flavor. The Portuguese soup was one of the best I’ve ever had. My husband had the steak with the egg and I had the shrimp Mozambique, both were amazing. Drinks were good too. Prices aren’t bad. We will definitely be back. I strongly encourage others to try this hidden gem.

Formerly TJs , this is a great little Cape Verdean/Portuguese restaurant. They have many classic dishes that represent both countries. The service was very attentive by our waitress including the chef. He wanted to make sure everything was ok. We came for lunch so we ordered sandwiches. the grilled chicken sando and I got a side of Mozambique sauce for dipping 🤤😋. Had I been hungrier I would have definitely opted for the Cape Verdean dishes they offer. My only criticism is the ambiance. There is an identity crisis happening. Plastic table clothes and cloth chair covers make the atmosphere seem like we are at a cheap event hall, then the bar area gives off sports bar vibes. It's also a little dark inside so I'm not sure if I should be eating or having a few drinks at the bar while watching TV. The food is excellent and the atmosphere could definitely match with a little effort.

I would just like to let you know I just came from TJ's at about 1:00 I had ordered fish and chips to go and the fish was burned and dry in the middle I spent $20 on a plate that I couldn't even eat

Did not deliver what I ordered. I called the kitchen the cook confirmed the mix up but no driver was available to bring me what I had ordered. They took my number down and noone ever called me back. So disappointed.

This place hates me for no reason. Went once in July 2024 and they denied me for my ID being underage although it clearly said that I was underage for the year prior and not 2024. Just went again in August of 2025 and they denied me service again. Stupid bar do not spend your money here
I was incredibly disappointed with our experience at La Familia. That night we were celebrating our anniversary. We were seated at the top of the stairs, directly across from the service door and service area. The tiled floor and seating was not at all like what you see on the first floor. Our food was bland-the mashed potatoes tasted like they were out of a box and the green beans and carrots were overcooked and mushy. However, we did enjoy our drinks and the server was polite. Can't say I'd go again.

Wonderful place to gather with friends from out of town. Food and drinks were great. We sat comfortably at the last high top at the end of the bar area. Waitress was attentive yet not intrusive. Definitely will return again.
