Very disappointed ?I used to work at the Star a long time ago when I was a teenager. I was a cook, and I made damn sure that every patron that left that place, who would be satisfied with their meal. I went to the Star for the first time in a long time this past weekend, and damn, I am so disappointed with the food me and my friends received.For $35, I paid for the whole-belly clam plate. I understand seafood is expensive, but I also understand that when I pay $35 for a plate of food...I better be full after I eat it. What I received, was 8 (I counted) stupid little fried clams, over maybe 2 handfuls of french fries....for $35. How in God's name do you guys justify the price of this plate for the mini portion of food you serve? I have ordered whole belly clams many times at other restaurants, and my portions are always far more generous.What my friend ordered, was a fried chicken sandwich. You would think that a unique restaurant like this would make their own hand-breaded chicken cutlets, but what she got was a Purdue breaded cutlet that was slapped onto a burger bun with a layer of lettuce, similar to what you get at McDonald's for $1.29.Yikes...underwhelming and overcharging I'd say...No shade towards the owners or the staff, they were friendly and I'm sure they work hard, but be better than this you guys...don't gyp and overcharge, ya dig?

I love their fish and chips and the seafood platter. I have had the grilled chicken sandwich which is delicious. I have had multiple of their soups which were amazing and I have loved getting their random specials like sheppards pie at times. I only wish it was closer so that during the colder months I could get take out and get it home without it getting too cold so I stick with soups and sandwiches mostly in the winter months. Chow mein sandwich is amazing. I get it deconstructed so I can get it home without the bun getting all soggy. They are very accommodating if you ask for anything specific.

Big shout out to Erika Madden and The Star Drive-In - I won the Lobster/Clam Boil for 4. Everything was delicious! Nice and hot when I went to pick it up. The place was very clean and the staff was super nice.You and your food are nothing short of amazing! The kids are already asking when we are going in for ice cream!
