A small place that is full of big surprises. The food was amazing. Steamers and Clam fritters were delicious with a house made tartar, lobster roll was perfect. Sea scallops were cooked perfectly and the seafood casserole was delicious. And the Cole slaw was super fresh. The place was busy and they didn't have enough wait staff, but they said they were in the process of finding someone new to work the weekends. We will be back.
Excellent fish dinner, great service, excellent price
Great food at great price. Definitely a hidden Gem in the Palmer, Ma area.
Enjoyed a shrimp and scallop dinner, and I didn't finish it. I'd go back
prime rib was like shoe leather waited for service over an hour then other people came and recieved food better than a half hr after our group and were about finished eating before our food came out of our party 3 ordered prime and one didn't just before serv time they came up and said they were out of prime for one person when others ordered the same after we did and got it so i took a burger instead and they couldn't get that right the staff was nice but will never return they even messed up two simple ice teas which were plain water
Arrived about 330pm. Loved the setting. Felt like we were at the cape in a roadside hole in the wall. There was only 3 other parties in the place. Ordered the handcut onion rings they were fantastic. Best ive had in years. Definitely not a frozen product. Then comes the downside. Ordered baked scallops and whole clams. Expected things to run smoothly. 45 minutes between appetizer and dinner. Wow. Food should have taken 20 minutes at that point. Other people were served and no need parties came in. Service staffing. I person to handle everything. Hmmmm. Should have a bartender and service person. I had to wait 15 minutes to get a beer. Food was fabulous. Can definitely tell most of what you eat is house made will return just for that.
So glad this restaurant is right in our neighborhood and just sorry we haven’t tried it until now. We started with a bowl of steamers that were sweet and juicy - and big! - then split a fried platter. It was all really good but the haddock, shrimp and scallops stood out the most. Nice selection of local craft beers. Laid back seaside atmosphere and excellent service with fair prices. We’ll be back for sure.
Started off with an ice cold draft(Jess), got the clam chowder, top 5 best clam chowder I’ve ever had(served piping hot ). Got the steamers, fresh and tasty. The wife got the beef barley soup, said it was delicious. Then got the prime rib dinner special ( medium rare), giant slab, cooked perfectly ( had to take half home!). Great service and the owner is a great guy! Definitely a new go-to spot! Get there when you can!
I’ve never had a bad meal here or bad service. Food is fabulous. Steamers are always fresh, plump and cooked perfectly. Steak and seafood done right.
We enjoyed another great meal this evening. Thank you, Chrystal, for your prompt and attentive service. As always on every visit, I love my one pound of steamers. My husband and I were very impressed with the fried pickles as an appetizer. The pickles were large and flavorful, and the coating was delicious. The fish and chips plate is always great at MB’s Taste of the Sea. I tried for the first time the corn and shrimp chowder. The blend of flavors and textures of pureed corn, cream, potato, green pepper, with an abundance of shrimp was truly outstanding.

We just had a fantastic dinner at MB’s! Steak was cooked to perfection, French onion soup and lobster roll was amazing! Very fresh! We will be back! Thank you Sara, great dinner!
Around November 2024, I went to MB's for the first time, and I'm so glad I did! They have weekly specials that you HAVE to try. To date, I'd say my favorites have been the burger loaded with bacon jam & mozzarella, the clam chowdah, and the massive fried pork chop with the candied carrots (these are amazing) and mashed. Last night I had the French onion soup which was pretty good too. My teen loves the loaded potato wedges and prime rib. The staff are wicked friendly and the place is small making it much more personable than a larger establishment. Seriously, go check this place out!!
Delightful whole belly clams and other native seafood… thanx again!!

MB’s Tastes of the Sea is a wonderful restaurant. I enjoy steamers at this restaurant very much. They are large, plump, and delicious and presented well with bowls of broth and melted butter. I fell in love with steamers when I dug them myself with the help of a childhood friend over 50 years ago. I am happy that I can now enjoy them within a half hour drive from home. My husband had high praise for his dinner with haddock stuffed with shrimps and scallop. The beers on tap are excellent. The gratis homemade potato chips are awesome. Do not let bad weather stop you from enjoying great food with friendly staff at this restaurant gem.
