This was my first time trying this restaurant. I ordered a take out combo plate at 5 pm that was supposed to be kung pao beef with pork fried rice, boneless spare ribs and fresh veg. spring rolls. When I got there at 5:15 pm to pick it up, the lights were off, so I thought at first that it was closed... I went in and there was no-one inside except one man sitting at the counter who handed me my bag. The food in general had no flavor, the rice was plain brown rice, not pork-fried as far as I could tell, the 'spicy' kung-pao beef was some kind of bland, deep fried chicken?...I think... mostly fatty little deep fried balls of something, but definitely not beef. The fresh veg. spring rolls were very greasy rolls with some unrecognizable white shreds inside. I was very disappointed, ended up throwing most of it out, and will not be back.

I often get take out here. The food is great with fast service. The combination plates are well priced and have food portions.

My wife and I went for lunch. We had the best food ever. Anyone looking for a very good place for lunch should check it out. You won't be disappointed.

This place in all honesty is really good. It’s a hidden gem, portions are big and their prices are great. I don’t really do reviews but this place is worth it. They’re very accommodating. Check it out!

Ordered one thing recieved another, ordered a meal never received any rice . Never ordered from this place before I will never order from here again. Call Dan and complain and they never offered any kind of reimbursement or a different type of meal or a credit. I will never order from them again nor will I recommend them.

Over the weekend, we went to Bamboo House in Wakefield to get two luncheon specials for take-out. We have been patronizing this location since it was Formosa in the early 1990s. Ownership has changed several times since then. Unlike under previous ownerships, Bamboo House now is a very dirty overpriced restaurant. 1) The bookcase in the entryway is covered with a thick layer of dust. 2) The glass doors, etc., obviously haven't been cleaned in a very long time. 3) The floors, too, obviously haven't been cleaned in a very long time. 4) A barefoot young girl (perhaps the owners' daughter) was running around barefoot. 5) The paper menu on the payment counter is covered with food stains. 6) The counter behind the payment counter resembles something from a program about hoarders. 7) The chairs that are placed very close to one another in a row across from the payment counter are in desperate need of cleaning. 8) Many types of cleaning products are atop the cold beverages cooler. 9) By the looks of the place, the cleaning products never have been used! We didn't look at the in-restaurant eating area or at the bar area. The lo mein noodles didn't taste fresh. Rather, they tasted as though they may have been reheated left-overs. Half of both luncheon special take-out containers was filled with rice, as one would expect to find if s/he ordered a rice plate but not a $9 luncheon special.

I always love Bamboo House and order from there frequently. Last two times the food is completely different. Looks different and taste different. Boneless spareribs were all fat no meat. Rice is completely different color and no taste. The pork in it is also all fat. Beef teriyaki not as flavorful or tender. The chicken wings look different and are bland also. Soy sauce was even different. I’m wondering if there is a new staff or it has exchanged hands. It was much better before consistently. I won’t be returning to a third disappointing meal.

Excellent food and a great value. The beef teriyaki are to die for-so tender and tasty. We have both dined in and ordered carry out. Kudos to the owners.

My luncheon special fried tofu & veggies with pork fried rice and an egg roll was FANTASTIC. Egg roll was the best I have had in a long time. Wonton soup was also yummy! I got a large portion of crab rangoons for my husband. They were good - but slightly to much onion flavor for our taste. Definitely going back to try other dishes on the menu.

Wasn't impressed at all. Food had no flavor to it. Lo Mein was very very lacking. Rice was bland. We ordered apps and 5 entrees. Nobody liked anything. Portions are large and love the old option to get small or large orders.

First and foremost we support this family run establishment. We are huge fans of the sesame chicken combination plate! My children love just about all the appetizers including Peking ravioli which we tend to double up on that order. We have dined in, enjoyed take out and used delivery. They are always pleasant, welcoming and portions larger than some other local spots. Give them a try! We have been return customers for at least 5 years now.

Chinese food can really be hit or miss. Bamboo house makes some really tasty food. I'm not a fan of the onions in the crab Rangoon, but that's just preference. They give huge portions. The General Gaos is delishous as well as the lo mein One meal I have 3 eating sessions with. Top notch and fast!
