I’ve been eating here most of my life and it’s always been a favorite. I have since moved away and stopped in for dinner while in the area. The chicken parm sandwich was just as good as I remembered, if not better. The kids had pizza which they loved and my hubby got ravioli and meatballs which were half gone before I realized he started eating. The pre meal breadsticks were warm from the oven and soft / delicious. Pedro has been there crushing it in the kitchen for 36 years...
The flavor of the pizza was excellent—the sauce was rich and well-balanced, and the outer crust had a satisfying texture. Unfortunately, the dough beneath the sauce was so soggy that the toppings slid right off, making it difficult to enjoy. The ingredients were fresh and tasty, but the structural issues with the base took away from the overall experience.
Living in Wakefield for many years Morena‘s was always a local favorite. I’ve always been pretty picky about food, especially ordering Italian food and I’ve never had a bad meal there. Some of my favorites are their Sicilian pizza, potato/ peppers/onions/egg sub, and their soup.
