I went in to eat on a monday night, there was about 4 people at the bar and a single couple eating dinner. didnt get seated, bartender told me and my girlfriend to sit where ever and someone will be with us. so we did. fast forward 25 minutes and no one had come to us to take our order or even give water or greet us. the whole time the waitresses were standing at the keno table looking at us and talking with eachother. id give the service 0 stars if i could.

I went for lunch on Tuesday afternoon with my family and we were taking back by the owner screaming at these two young girls that work there. It was so unprofessional and I was so uncomfortable after that. I felt so bad for them. If I were anyone looking into ever thinking about working at a place like this I would really think about what you are getting your self into. The food is always amazing and the service is always amazing too but what we saw was so uncalled for. I don’t think I’ll be going back for a little while…

I’ve been coming to the Gateway for years and it’s very unfortunate but the food has slipped a lot. I never thought it was great but they used to have a banging burger and the fish n chips are fine. The burger I liked they took off the menu. Ah well, so I started ordering the kids fish n’ chips bc I don’t need an adult size. Never had an issue and then the last time I was there I was upcharged $3 for ordering the kids size. Never happened before and it won’t happen again bc I’m done. The menu is smaller, the portions are smaller, the food is mediocre at best. There are too many other places around to bother going back. It’s a shame bc we enjoyed the bartenders and trivia night. Seems they went cheap on everything while raising prices so that’s that.

I went in for lunch before work on Sunday 11/16. I arrived around 1:40pm and was seated right away in a corner near the bar. After looking over the menu and conversation I realized that it had been about ten minutes and nobody had stopped by the table. I gave them another five minutes to see if I would be acknowledged. Unfortunately nothing. I got up and walked out. The hostess on the way out smiled and told me to have a nice day. I stepped back in really quick to get the managers name, and she seemed a little nervous or confused. I told her it was for my review and she just waved at me. That was my first impression of this place. I know that nobody really cares and customer service isn’t what it used to be, but really? They couldn’t care less if I ever came back, so I won’t. I was really hoping to try the food because the menu looked really good, unfortunately I left and got my uniform on to get to my shift skipping lunch all together. On a positive note, I have no complaints about the food, or even the service, because there wasn’t any.

This is a reliable place to go to, hang out and have great tavern food. The outside rear dining area is very scenic.

Went on a Friday had a party of 6/7 and still got there and sad us pretty quick. Our waitress was completely amazing. Can’t remember her name, but God bless her. We had her laughing.

The food was very good overall, with generous portions and fair, moderate pricing. I ordered the Haddock Oscar ($26.99), which came as a large broiled haddock topped with crab meat, hollandaise sauce, asparagus, and breadcrumbs. The flavors were solid, but my only complaint was the pool of buttery oil at the bottom of the dish.

Service was friendly and attentive, and portions across the board were impressive. We sat on the bar side, which was a bit noisy — but that’s to be expected. Overall, a good meal with strong value and a welcoming atmosphere.

Haven’t been in a while. Visited @4:00pm on a Sunday. It was not busy at all. We had the Clam Chowder & it’s very good. Hubby had the lobster roll special & declared it was delicious, full of meat. I chose the summer beet salad. It was good, brought some home. Server (Corin) was great too.
